The view. The view is phenomenal. It can't get any better than this. There is a small quaint bar on the observation deck and the price of a drink is what you are willing to pay. The staff was phenomenal, from the extremely helpful "receptionist" at the bottom to the "bartender" at the top. There are chairs, tables and sofas everywhere around the closed observation deck. But if you wanna feel a bit adventurous take the stairs and head for the open observation terrace. Fresh air, sun, breeze, the view...and plenty of tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee or a drink while enjoying the view. On the weekend they have falconers and you can pet falcons and hawks. If that will be your only reason to hike/drive/ride to the top of Sljeme i would suggest to check their page first and verify in real time if they are open: sljeme360.hr Some things are still a bit under construction at the top but it will in no shape or form diminish the experience and THE view. One day ticket is 10€ and a yearly ticket is 20€. And the grapevine says that they are planning new features and experiences in the near future. Looking...
Read moreThis was one of the fun things I enjoyed in Zagreb. I love nature so it was lovely to look down to see how peaceful and green nature is #letssavethetrees. I love the fact that it was not a short ride like other cable cars we have entered. The distance was just right...not too long to get bored and not too short to want more...just right👌
The downer for us was when the ticket lady charged us more and when I brought her attention to it, she pretended as though she didn't understand what I was saying with an attitude, when I showed her the price ticket board in front of her at the desk she quickly changed and her (senior)colleague came in and apologised and rectified the tickets.
Not just here, it looks like this is a norm in this country....systematic exploitation. I expect this type of behaviour at roadside purchase not in an establishment as such . I Just made sure I know what I was paying for before paying everywhere I went as it was very common and easier to inflate the price when you...
Read moreMedvednica and Sljeme finally got the deserved public observation deck at the highest floors of the communication tower. It was open back in May 2023, when it offered only a walk on the panoramic terrace under surveillance of an official. The caffe bar at the lower level was under construction back then. Now, Sljeme Tower, one of the symbols of Zagreb has a functional and safe terrace which provides spectacular view of Zagreb city, whole central Croatia, and almost whole Slovenia all the way to Julian Alps. It really changes the perspective of Medvednica mountain and its surroundings. The lower level is occupied by a nicely decorated, lounge type caffe bar. The entry to the tower costs 10 euros for adults. I recommend buying an unlimited entry (within working hours of course) ticket for only 30 euros which lasts to the end of the calendar year. Just a precaution: the terrace is placed at 1114 m.a.s.l. where it is usually very windy and quite colder than at the bottom of...
