Oroklini Lake — Attraction in Oroklini

A protected refuge for wildlife the lake is surrounded by wire to fence off unwelcome visitors and at the same time ensure that the bird habitat remains calm and quiet. However visitors can admire the wetland's wildlife since it is rather small and a variety of birds can be seen with naked eyes. We travelled from Paphos to see the flamingos and we were not disappointed. Huge bonus having a purpose built viewing platforms to view the stars of the show. Plenty of other water birds too so never boring. Looking forward to going again next year. Don't forget your binoculars and a camera (with a zoom lens preferably)....

Both hides are a bit too far away from the flamingoes to get decent pictures ☹️.

Also, the hide near the filling station means that you're shooting into the sun sand only get silhouettes in your pictures ☹️

Cyprus seems to do nature reserves almost as badly as they do historic sites...
