This is one of the smaller beaches along the south coast of Cyprus but its size is one of its attractive features. Frequented predominantly by locals (some tourists were present) its black sand is an interesting alternative to the picture-postcard white sand of some of the bigger beaches/tourist hot spots. But it's free of shingle, soft on the feet and has a gradual slope into the water, making it ideal for young children to paddle in or just play in the waters edge. There are no strong currents to worry about and the water isn't too choppy either, given the beach is tucked away in a wee inlet. Ample parking (free) on site and steps all the way onto the beach. A word on that. The cafe offers a good view of the beach (bearing in mind a power plant dominates the sky-line to the south east), the staff are super-friendly but the food is extremely expensive and average at best. Bring your own if you can. Toilet facilities are there too for you to use and are clean. A good location for young families and if you don't mind looking at a huge industrisl structure in the distance then this is...

If you continue down instead of going to the main car park there is a gravel road which you follow for 800 metres and you can park there. There are free showers and is more accessible for wheelchairs or a buggy. The main car park has a lot of...

Free and big parking too, 50cent showers by the restaurant. Great place for families with kids as kids love swimming near the rocks and caves. Only a 20 minute drive...
