Read moreEasy access, soft and sandy beach perfect for sand castles, lots of shade and beach chairs (2.5 Euro each), a small, shaded playground for little kids, lots of animals running around (chickens, roosters, cats, puppies and bunnies), and very clear water, though there isn't much to see in it other than sand and a bit of seaweed.
Small cafe and restuarant right on the beach with great cold coffee, snacks and drinks, and decent food (large portions, very reasonable quality and price) with a friendly staff.
We were a large group with 5 kids under 10 and a teenager, plus 8 adults. Had a great time! The kids loved the animals and playground, as well as the beach.
Went late on Saturday morning during the last week of June, expecting the place would be packed, but it wasn't. About half full, quiet, panoramic view of the nearby seafront, and very clean and pleasant.
The beach is about 10 km from the airport, so you do get the occasional plane flying over, but it didn't bother us at all.
Lunch was great. We had chicken and pork kebabs, fish & chips, hamburgers, and salads. Everything was fine. Not 5-star food, but tasty, quick, and reasonably priced. Better than we expected, actually.
Would give it a 4.5 out of...

Sure, it needs a good toilet and maybe a shower facility, but just to concrete over what has been an amazing reminder of a traditional Cyprus bar/food outlet would be a tragedy. Rikkos still retains it's charm and fairly rustic service, just the way I like it. I sincerely hope this never changes. Lots of change, however, is coming to this stretch of coast and it will bring opportunities for employment and, no doubt, lots of profit for the local economy, but, please don't let Rikkos lose out...
