Atlantida Beach Bar & Tavern — Restaurant in Yeroskipou

What makes place good or bad is not only food but it’s people. We used to come to this tavern several times with my mom because it’s convenient location, walking distance from our villa. Food is ok, not the best fish on island but decent one, also seafront, airy, and Never much people. It’s pretty much empty always. Then I had to leave Cyprus for a week and since my mom doesn’t drive a car we agreed she will go every day to eat at this place because it’s close to home. When she came there alone the black hair lady pointed her to the door to leave. My mom didn’t understand she thought she is asked to wait or to sit outside. Tavern was almost empty. Then another, white hair lady came out and told her that they expect all tables to be occupied soon and they can’t GIVE THE WHOLE TABLE TO A SINGLE PERSON, because it’s Sunday and they want to maximize profits, leave tables for big companies. Basically they whipped my mom out, a MANY TIMES REPEAT CLIENT, out of the place and not service her just because she was alone. How do you like that? It’s UGLY and INHUMAN. This review is based on two visits during a week with the Sun-Soul-Cyprus group in early November.

The first visit was for Guy Fawkes aka Bonfire Night on the 5th of November. Our visit was alongside the local British ex pat locals as the celebration is a British event. The bar was busy and service was quick with reasonable prices. They had a local singer on stage prior to the fireworks display who did OK but did have some issues with the sound system. There was barbeque food and patties available to buy and they were popular. The fireworks were good and after the show the professional DJs from the Sun Soul Cyprus group got the party going until late in to the night. It was nice to see everyone having a top party time together.

Our second visit was a daytime visit for a DJ music event where the food was a help yourself, hot and cold, food buffet which was lovely and the food just kept coming. As Sun Soul Cyprus provided the music that was of the usual, very high standard. There were plenty of sun loungers in the sun and seats under the canopies and parasols. We booked our wedding meal here and we went to see them before our day, we were told we could have whatever food we wanted and would even do us a meze dish if we wanted that we could both try. On the actual day we arrived and were greeted by the manager and congratulated but it looked like we were the only customers there. We were very disappointed to find our table on a ants nest and had about 6 cats hovering scrounging food, I asked for a beef but they said no and the only meal offered was fish or chicken and chips so we had chicken but it was very rubbery and chewy. The lady serving our food was standing very close hovering to clear our table which was really uncomfortable and felt they just wanted to get it all over with for us to leave. I would never recommended this place because it was a big disappointment to our day.
