Torture Museum — Attraction in okres Břeclav

It was an absolute BLAST. Bring your partner here, your parents AND your kids, hell, bring your enemies and lock them in one of the contraptions.

Me and my fiance spent ages here, looking at all the devices, reading the descriptions and getting extra tidbits of information from the staff (wish I asked for their names! you guys were so awesome!), and playing spot the rat game - no real rats, just little figurines that are hidden all over the museum.

They had us ON OUR KNEES, the Joy we felt after spotting a little guy each time was unexplainable. You bond with strangers, there's no language barrier anymore, no shame, just everyone on all fours with phone flashlights...

Small but comprehensive museum on torture over the centuries. The torture instruments are accompanied by drawings or photographs of how they were used and some written explanations are given how and when certain equipment was used (ask for the English translation at the entrance). The old timey music is a nice touch, not sure if the spiderwebs are on purpose XD

Some people might find this kind of exhibition macabre, but in my opinion it is important to remind ourselves how cruel humans can be...

We can recommend to visit this place. Very pleasant service. Exhibits are very interesting and all of them have very detailed information. Exhibition is full of historic pictures, how was torture tools used by executioners. On the top of that period music was playing all the time. There was only one negative thing. I did not see descriptions in English, I did not care as I speak Czech but this can be problem...
