Wax Museum Karlštejn — Attraction in okres Beroun

Highly recommend visiting if you are in Karlštejn. It starts with an amazing immersive optical kaleidoscope film which is like nothing I have ever seen before. After the 5 min film you get taken through a journey though Czechs history. The medieval section especially blew me away. The use of mirrors, sound effects and amazing craftsmanship made me feel like I was actually walking though Karlštejn during the medieval times. Under the castle Karlštejn is placed thus very nice Wax museum Karlštejn. Pretty dark rooms and loud noises which making stronger the atmosphere of the museum particularly when the main focus on this museum it is on medieval time of centuries back associated with a monarchy and kingdom. Surely nothing serious scary has not going there in the museum, but interesting enough the atmosphere of darkness in the waxworks museum with medieval figurine to visit. It is good to visit this museum which has cheap entry fee and and it is related to the tour of the Karlštejn Castle especially when the Castle has not interiors in rooms and it has most of the rooms empty which are unfurnished. Therefore this museum it is kind of addition to the castle to get the feelings of medieval times back to perceive the whole tours which are selling separate but has the same common sense. Pod hradem Karlštejn se nachází velmi pěkné muzeum voskových figurín Karlštejn. Pěkně tmavé místnosti a různé hlasitě zvuky, které umocňují atmosféru muzea, zvláště když hlavní zaměření tohoto muzea je na středověkou dobu staletí zpět spojenou s monarchií a královstvím. Nic vážného děsivého se tam v muzeu určitě neděje, ale dostatečně zajímavá atmosféra temnoty v muzeu voskových figurín se středověkými figurínami. Je dobré navštívit toto muzeum, které má levné vstupné a hlavně souvisí s prohlídkou hradu Karlštejn zejména tehdy, když hrad nemá interiéry v místnostech a má většinu místností prázdný, a sou casto nezařízene. A i proto je toto muzeum jakýmsi doplňkem prohlídky hradu aspoň já sem to tak vnímal, aby se posílily pocity středověku taky hradní prohlídky. V každém případě se prodávají vstupenky do hradu a muzea odděleně, ale chci říct že Hrad a muzeum mají stejný zaměření a proto je dobrý navštívit Hrad i muzeum v jeden den když už se tam dostanete a budete mít podle mého z toho...

Celkem nenápadně umístěné muzeum - a v zimních měsících vypadá jako uzavřené, chce to jít až ke vstupu, kde z cedule zjistíte, že je otevřeno. První lednový víkend se nečekaně vyčasilo, tak byla uvnitř větší zima než venku, inu vosk... Ale zase si tam vychutnáte historický průřez českými dějinami a státností seznamuje návštěvníky se slavnými postavami českých dějin v jejich dobových prostředích (Karel IV., Rudolf II., Marie Terezie, František Josef I., či Napoleon). Běžné vstupné je 100 Kč, děti a studenti za 70, rodinné vstpné je za 270.

A totally inconspicuous museum - and in the winter months it looks like closed, you just need to closer go to the entrance, where you can see from the sign that it is open. The first weekend in January was unexpectedly warm weater, so it was more cold inside than the outside, but yeah, it´s a wax ... You can enjoy many of the famous figures of Czech & European history in their medieval times and surroundings here (Charles IV, Rudolf II. , Maria Theresia, Franz Joseph I. or Napoleon).
