Holy Mountains It is built into a large square and inside the square is sitting the old church (Basilica). When you have visited Loreta in Prague then you know what I am talking about, but the Loreta place with a church is much older than this one and so has more impact on visitors in terms of Christianity and spirituality than the Holy Mountain place - saying based on own feelings how I have perceived those places where hardly you can compare the Loreta Church' atmosphere of the place with anything. The other big difference is in Loreta place when you purchase photographs permission for 4 euros then you can take photographs everywhere. On the other hand in Holy Mountain you can take Photographs anywhere and it is quit strict so don't even try it. This mean my trip even did not start it and very quickly ended. Surely I went thought the whole comolex but visitor can take photographs only on the front of the entry to the Holy Mountain which si also nice but it is just a front face of the place. The other thing is the Loreta fee entry is an entry to the whole Loreta complex including the church, the pathways halls, two arts exhibitions and jewellery exhibition and so on. On the other hand in Holy Mountain visitor pay for every attraction separate such for entry to exhibitions, museum, for tower, for guidance walk around the path halls, for jewellery exhibitions and so on and tourist guide told even from the tower most likely is not permitted take photographs which was really too much for me to bite as never ever happens to me that I will pay extra fees for tower entry and then I would be not allow to take photographs surroundings around the place and that is really in my view unreasonable rules that simply discourage me to explore more about this nice place. So a stairs of the exit of the path halls was great to take stairs to the centre of the town Příbram which also did not exceeded my expectations and that my walk around the centre ended quickly around. Anyway, it a nice place (Holy Mountain) so when you will have a way around it is a nice place to visit and take a walk. Otherwise in Czech Republic, there are lots of similar places which might give to visitors in my opinion a little more because it is not all about the...

The temple on the terrace with a balustrade, surrounded by cloisters with lunet pictures and other artistic elements, is an architectural jewel in which many craftsmen and carvers took part, among others painter P. Brandl and sculptor J. Brokoff. First of all, the two entry portals belong to the best that was built in Bohemia at that time, and can be attributed to them on the basis of the preliminary analysis of the most important architect Kryštof Dientzenhofer. Even his son Kilián Ignác prepared a monumental two-aisled staircase at the northern side of the cloister, following a covered stairway to the city, before 1727 for Svatá Hora. The design was realized between 1727 and 1728 in a simplier form, which has been preserved to today. At the beginning of the 20th century, the sanctuary was promoted by Pope Pius X to the basilica minor.

Permanent expositions focus on, for example, the theme of Svaté Hory in visual arts, its construction development or life during communism. People can see the surprising finds that archaeologists encountered during the reconstruction. A research center dedicated to the Svatohorský music archive was set up and various educational programs...

Svatá Hora – a place with soul People have been coming here on pilgrimage for over 400 years. Even if you’re not religious, you can feel the special peace and spiritual energy of this place ✨. I bought a blessed candle🕯️and lit it quietly inside the basilica — it was a very personal moment. There are several small shops with souvenirs, candles, and religious items. Nearby, there’s a small café where you can grab a bite after your visit.

As you travel through the Czech Republic, you must visit this unique pilgrimage site. The basilica and monastery, richly adorned in Baroque style, are astonishing. It’s a photogenic location that begs to be captured. After marvelling at its beauty, a fascinating passage leads you down into the heart of the village. And don’t forget to light a candle in the basilica – it’s a serene moment that adds to the spiritual ambience.
