Had booked here for 6 nights as a base for day trips but escaped after 2 nights. I can see why there are positive reviews, The room we had on the first floor was lovely - light, clean and huge with a kitchen and oven. The bathroom was large and clean. No washing machine as a photo on an earlier TA review had shown. Here the positives ended. The kitchen had not one cooking utensil so one wonders why the stove was there. The two windows at the end of the room had to be kept closed because of strong cooking smells coming up from the kebab shop below. The kebab shop appeared to be the social hub for the youth of Pribram so there was a lot of noise and cars revving. The pillows were very flat. When asked politely for another two, the host replied flatly, NO! At my look of surprise he said there was only one pillow per person. This has to be untrue as his website states they can put extra beds in the room - what do they use for pillows? The stairwells are dark and dingy with dull sensor lights. Until they come on you're in darkness. Photos of a brightly lit stairwell on a booking site made us laugh. The stairs are a dark grey concrete which makes it very hazardous. The curtains fall down from their hooks however gently you try to open them. The bathroom ones fell down completely on the second day, treating the people of Pribram to something they probably did not want to see. There are three doors before you get into your room. The keys are very difficult to use and since you're in semi darkness this becomes very frustrating. The process is repeated to leave the premises - goodness knows how you'd fare in an emergency. Breakfast, included in the rate, was very good. Beware if you're a vegetarian though. Without asking, a large plate of sliced meats is placed in front of you. There's also one boiled egg each, a few tiny pieces of cheese and a bit of salad - no choice was given. Now to the landlord who was the reason we left early. Friendly - no, not to us. I agree with a previous reviewer who described him as odd. He was surly and taciturn from the moment we arrived at 4pm. I'd had a fall and even after physio was having difficulty with stairs, I'd emailed him to ask how many stairs, he replied 20, conveniently forgetting the 5 at the entrance. After two days I mentioned I was having difficulty and may have to leave early - his reply was it's not my problem, you'll have to pay an extra night. Thanks, but I had already realised and accepted this would be the case, so his appalling attitude and tone was shocking. On our day of departure I gave him cash in euros as he'd requested, with the extra night included. It was 5 euros more than he'd quoted so as he took it he said he'd keep the change , the euro had fallen and it wasn't his problem. I remarked that nothing appeared to be his problem and showed him the email with his quote. He angrily dumped 5 euro coins on the table. Under any other circumstance, I would happily have left them as a tip but after his unpleasantness there was no way I was giving him a cent extra. Pribram itself is a dull sort of town with not one redeeming feature - a place to pass through or stay one night perhaps. ...
Read moreForget about staying here! The owner is outright rude and not at all helpful. After he told us that if we did not like his place we should leave... we did so the first thing the next morning. While the room was large enough to be comfortable, that about sums up the positives. The negatives include: steep staircase (no lift to get to the top floor), motion sensors for the lights don't come on easily so one has to clamber up the stairs in the dark, no washing machine in the bathroom even though provision for it was there, the owner had switched off power to the stove and would not allow it to be switched on, the towels were poor quality and as thin as tissue paper, half of the cutlery and crockery was not provided, the parking area was a muddy mess and only accessible by driving over the roadside curb to get to it, and the biggest problem of all was that the room was absolutely freezing and the owner downright refused to increase the temperature setting on...
Read moreWe decided to stay for a week in a Time Cafe Penzion. We saw the room size on web and we saw they are offering central heating system and the kitchenette. What a disappointment after 1 night of our stay. The owner was very rude to us:he will not make the heating system warmer because of us and we can move out if we do not like it.The same happened when we asked for giving us an advice how to use the oven and the hotplates. He said he disconected it ,and he will not allow us to use it.Outside was 0C,the heater was ice cold,we caught the chill that night .||All his behavior was absoluttelly unreasonable. We paid Kc1200/night,only good thing about this place was a breakfast(cold one/continental only),the staff was efficient . DO NOT SUPPORT this kind of accommodation. The owner said to us :he has money enough so if we move out he does not care -he is always fully...
