Essentially it’s the Louvre but with ships. Models of ships, drawings of ships, paintings of ships… little ships in a bottle (seriously, hundreds of ships in bottles). This incredible collection is meticulously organized and intimately connected to the fascinating maritime history of Marstal. The gallery of Carl Rasmussen paintings alone is worth the visit. Give yourself plenty of time and enjoy!

Desuden god butik.

Absolutely fantastic museum! Very unexpected in such a small town in the middle of nowhere. The exposition is very well laid out and presented. The parts of real ships built in into the rooms is very clever idea, which allows you to step in into real ships interiors. There are tons of high quality ship models of all times and sizes, large collection of ships in bottles, ship paintings. The room with exotic artifacts and non-european ship models is very impressive. You can easily spend several hours there looking at each item. Definitely a hidden gem, which is must see if you come...

Great museum, at first I was unsure if to actually go in as it looks small for the money they charge, I am glad we did it is much bigger than it looks and the kids loved the craft room halfway round making boats and lighthouses. We ended up spending a lot more time in here than we...
