Marstal Strand Camping — Hotel in Ærø Municipality

This must be my favorite campsite I stayed at so far because the people that are running it clearly thought about their guests’ needs.

Just a few examples:

Yes, the showers are timed and you have to pay for them BUT you can pause the shower and you can also adjust the temperature and have a shower head that you can hold onto. Brilliant!

There is a family bathroom, a play area tent in case of bad weather, they even have a bathtub for kids! And obviously there’s also a playground. Love it!

The shared kitchen area and dishwashing area is equipped with both dish soap and rags that are being replaced daily. Awesome.

The bread rolls you can get in the morning are incredible and the coffee is also so incredibly good it lives up to big city standards. A unique experience for a campsite!

Had a really nice 3 night stay at this campsite in our campervan. The location is great just a short walk from the sea and Erik's Hale Strand and a 10/15 minute stroll into Marstal itself.

The facilities were clean and well maintained during our stay and we found the pitch size to be generous. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that when we visited the shop didn't stock essentials and basic provisions like milk, cheese, bread and a small range of fresh produce. It would really benefit from stocking these items as it is quite far to walk to the nearest supermarket.

I would definitely recommend this campsite to family and friends and would certainly stay here...

(Un)fortunately, there was a festival in Marstal close to the camping. We didn't get the peace an tranquility we were hoping for, as the festival ended at 2 am three days in a row and because of the loud music people on the camping site could hardly fall asleep before that.

I would have wished for the camping site to mention this before the booking as this really downgraded the experience and would have led us to look for a different camping site. After all you have to mention the interests of your visitors who a basically sleeping outside with no sound...
