Temple of the Sun Museum — Attraction in San Antonio

Beware of this museum. Do not enter. This is not a real museum - this is not a real Inca structure. These are not the real pictures. This is a scam location. sadly I lost over an hour of time and entrance fee.

It is not an authentic museum. It is a sales location for different artist and over priced products. It is a location to promote one artist who sells his art and various other products

You pay to enter the building and then you are told it is not an actual Inca building. It is only a 20 year old replica structure selling the art of one man all throughout the building

This museum is a scam. You enter the museum for $4 and then are taken to different rooms that sell you different products.

Must visit while in quito, a few restaurant propose some good food...chose wisely! Once you are done with this touristy attraction, head down (8mn walk) to the Intinan museum and discover the true middle. Take the guided visit, it's awesome, the will explain about tribes, and how they used to shrink heads of enemies, ancient freakish burial tradition, show how water spins on either way depending where you stand on the line, it takes a few feet, and other fun things to do. Very friendly...

Una experiencia interesante, pero no lo que esperábamos. Visitamos El Templo del Sol pensando en un museo con enfoque histórico-cultural, pero la experiencia se sintió más sensorial y comercial. Las explicaciones sobre la medicina ancestral fue buena, pero si se siente como en cada estación tratan de venderte algo, esto no lo esperas de un museo en realidad. Lo que si, las degustaciones complementarias de té de coca, cacao, chocolates, vinos y destilados; sin duda si agregaron un plus a la experiencia. Tuvimos la oportunidad de ver al Sr. Ortega pintar en vivo y si es un espectáculo ver la velocidad a la que pinta, y todo lo que se exhibe está a la venta. Se extraña más contenido sobre la historia de la cultura andina, el espacio tiene mucho potencial para ver más obras que las del Sr. Ortega, considerando el nombre del lugar también. También nos hizo falta una opción de tour en inglés para mis amigos extranjeros. Aún así, el ambiente, la estética, el personal es muy amable y los detalles del sitio estan bién cuidados. !! Y como recomendación personal para los que visiten, vayan en auto, es muy dificil conseguir uber para volver a mitad del mundo.

Por el precio de la entrada que fueron 4$, todos los complementos que te incluye está muy bien pensado. Lo recomiendo si es que se entiende que no es un museo...
