The majesty of Isis sweeps you away as you’re sitting and having your dinner at this beautiful little lodge . You are on an island directly across from the great and holy temple of the goddess Isis.|||| The staff are absolutely amazing; attentive, polite, and warm. You feel safe there on your own private little island where you can go swimming or just be lost in your thoughts. It is a paradise unlike any other hotel I have ever stayed in. ||||First of all, the food is out of this world, all fresh and made by a chef who really knows how to please. From the early morning when the pink light washes over the Temple until late at night when it shines like a jewel, you are mesmerized by its mystery and beauty. ||||I never wanted to leave even to visit the mainland. I could easily have spent the rest of my life there, writing novels about those ancient times. Sometimes at night when they had the sound and light show, the temple seems to come back to life. One could easily imagine white robed priestesses singing and dancing to the beautiful images in the temple.||||I enjoyed taking many bags of cat food that I had brought as gifts for the cats that live on that island and are precious to Isis. All of the people there take care of them and love each and every one of them. Being a Cat Lover, it was wonderful to take the boat over, right across from where we stayed to visit them every day. I plan to go back as many times as I can. It is a place of peace and joy which you never get from staying on the mainland.|||| It is one of my most favorite hotels in all of the world that I have visited. And having flown for five different airlines in my life I have stayed in thousands of hotels. And yet, this one has...

Read moreA visit to the Nubian Village in Egypt was one of the most colorful and heartwarming experiences of my trip. Located near Aswan along the Nile River, the village is home to the Nubian people, an ethnic group with a rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the brightly painted houses, often decorated with symbols and murals reflecting Nubian life and beliefs.
The people were incredibly welcoming, offering traditional tea and sharing stories about their history, language, and daily life. I even had the chance to visit a local school and interact with the children, which was both fun and inspiring. One of the highlights was learning about their customs and seeing how they’ve preserved their identity despite modernization.
The Nile boat ride to the village was peaceful and scenic, offering beautiful views of the river and desert landscape. I highly recommend visiting the Nubian Village to anyone looking to experience the genuine warmth and culture of Egypt beyond the famous monuments. It’s a perfect way to connect with the local community and see a different, equally fascinating...
