The Pyramid of Teti, located in Saqqara, was built for Pharaoh Teti, the first ruler of Egypt's Sixth Dynasty, around 2345 BC. Though not as large as some of the earlier pyramids, it is historically significant. The pyramid originally stood about 52 meters high but has since been reduced to a mound due to erosion. One of the most important features of Teti’s pyramid is the inclusion of the Pyramid Texts, the earliest known religious inscriptions in ancient Egypt, which are carved on the walls of the burial chamber. These texts were meant to guide and protect the pharaoh in the afterlife and laid the foundation for later funerary practices.
