Badu camp — Attraction in Makadi Bay

My husband and I had the most unforgettable evening at Badu Camp Hurghada, and we can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a romantic, off-the-beaten-path experience.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The camp is beautifully set in the desert, far from the city lights, giving you a peaceful escape into nature. We were greeted with friendly smiles and genuine hospitality—every detail felt personal and thoughtful.

We started the evening with traditional Bedouin tea as the sun began to dip below the horizon. Watching the sunset over the desert dunes was absolutely breathtaking—one of those moments where everything feels still and perfect. The setting is incredibly romantic, with cozy seating, soft lighting, and a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to unwind and just be present together.

As night fell, we were guided through a stargazing session that completely blew us away. With zero light pollution, the sky came alive with stars. Our guide was knowledgeable, pointing out constellations and sharing stories that added depth and magic to the experience. We even caught a few shooting stars!

The service throughout was exceptional—attentive but never intrusive. We felt truly looked after, with little touches like warm blankets, delicious local food, and music that matched the mood perfectly.

If you’re visiting Hurghada as a couple, don’t miss Badu Camp. It’s not just a tour—it’s a soulful experience that leaves you feeling connected to nature, to the stars, and to each other.

A truly wonderful experience from start to finish! All the people were welcoming, friendly and very attentive.

We arrived by private transfer and welcomed with Arabic coffee and dates. Followed by delicious hibiscus tea and a beautiful sunset.

We were able to ask questions about the Bedouin culture and learn (and take part 😊) in traditional bread making, coffee making and dance. The lemongrass tea was wonderful! We also met Alex the camel, who was lovely and well looked after.

The dinner was amazing! Everything cooked beautifully and fresh just for us. Honestly the meal was the best we had all trip!!

Our last activity was star gazing. Noor (I hope that is how you spell it, he told us the translation means Light 😊), was fantastic! He is clearly passionate about astronomy and wants to share his knowledge. He was engaging and friendly throughout the experience and his English is brilliant too.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience and we would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to try something different during their visit, who wants to learn more about the culture and experience the warm hospitality of the people.

Had an absolutely fantastic and unforgettable evening at the Badu camp.

It was the last day of our holiday and I decided it'd be good to go for a camel ride and experience a bit of Bedouin culture (I'd seen some tour companies offer this but we couldn't find anywhere at such short notice).

I spotted Badu camp on google maps so got in touch. They were very friendly and worked hard to organise the evening for us -including hotel pickup.

Yasin and the team were all lovely and very friendly. The camel ride at sunset was amazing then back at camp we made bread, enjoyed a feast (very nice and it never ended!) joined in with the dancing and relaxed under the stars!

This place is great and is a 'must visit' for anyone staying in Makadi Bay area (or anywhere else around Hurghada). It's also great value for money. Hope to see you all again one...
