The entrance to KV 43, Thutmes IV is uphill, high in the mountainside, above and southeast of KV 19. I was very lucky to adventure up there, and actually had it all for myself. What it was a great and different experience. I was glad to have an opportunity to explore it at my own pace. The other closer tombs, you line up with a lot of people up and down, into and out of it. Of course it also had a “guide” monitoring the visit but it was so worth it! It is accessed by two long flights of steps going down, where there’s an enormous sarcophagus covered in hieroglyphs. The walls are decorated with paintings and is overall a big tomb.

One of the tombs that often gets forgotten. It's a long way out of the main area after a short uphill hike. The hike uphill means the staircase down the tombs are quite deep. But the effort is worth the reward! This tomb hides a huge sarcophagus as well as some amazing graffitis dating back to a few years after the tomb was completed that proves that a government official checked the content of the tomb. Fascinating!

Definitely recommend coming to this tomb - only a few mins walk from the entrance. The other tourists and tour groups don't bother walking to this one so you will likely have it to yourself. The sarcophagus in this tomb is nicely decorated. We also found the attendant helpful and in this tomb and not pushy like some of the attendants in other tombs.
