Very pretty Coptic church. It was part of our city tour. As it happens in all city tours shopping took most of the time for our touristic group by the time everyone came back to bus guide was asking should we miss this destination. Luckily we still visited this place. Definetely on recommend list while you are at Sharm Ash Sheikh. Very pretty architecture, and paintings, it's open for public and people who belong to other religion are allowed to go in. Guards will just check the bags and if anyone's clothes are too short will provide covering scarf/material. No need to cover your head. We heard very interesting facts about christianity and Islam development in history of Egypt. Photos are also...

Podziwiam😄

This Gorgeous place of worship is open to everyone, women included, and not necessary to remove your footwear - although one feels you should, due to it's awe inspiring beauty! Surprisingly,The Heavenly Cathedral is not a massive tourist attraction - probably because it's location is in the Old Town of Sharmel Sheike, and a hidden jem. From outside, the building has a very warm and welcoming glow, with heavenly angels depicted above the main entrance. Once inside, the paintings are breathtaking and so well preserved. The acoustics are amazing and one almost feels dizzy, trying to take in every detail... A Truly amazing place to...

This church is ornated with paintings on almost every conceivable area, with a mix of styles, but everything combines beautifully. The old vitraliums on one side, and the painting with kids from all over the world at the entrance on the other side, convey a message without sermons - perfect for a heavily touristic area. My favorite piece of art here is the crowned lion with the lamb face on top, portraying Jesus, who is compared both with a lion and a lamb. Genial. One small criticism - I expected to see a less European-looking Jesus, given that we're in Egypt, and Jesus is from Israel.

The Heavenly Cathedral in Sharm El Sheikh is a remarkable Coptic church, standing as a testament to the fusion of faith and artistic expression. It is the largest and most recent Coptic church in the area, garnering international recognition as one of the world’s top ten most beautiful churches in 20101. This architectural marvel is located in the Hay el Noor district and was built at the turn of the 20th century. With its intricate design and spiritual significance, the Heavenly Cathedral is a place of reverence and awe for visitors and worshippers alike. 🙏✨

The Heavenly Cathedral is Sharm’s newest and biggest Coptic church. Voted one of the world’s 10 most beautiful churches in 2010, when it was finished, it features impressive frescos and religious murals of Biblical scenes such as The Creation and The Exodus. Built in only two years, the cathedral is located in the Hay el Noor district, not far from the twin minarets of El Mustafa mosque. Prepare to be blown away by St John’s vision of The Apocalypse, which can be seen staring ominously down from the ceiling.
