We had visited on Friday 26th jan for the flower show and here are my views regarding overall experience, parking, traffic, washroom facility *we had been there around afternoon and the crowd was huge! As there no systematic arrangement you will find people scattered around everywhere. Also the area onto which flow show has been done is not quite limited. most of the garden is filled with various stalls. Thus if youre looking to do a photoshoot with flowers or spend a peaceful time then you'll be disappointed. In that case you can prefer visiting early, before 11am maybe to have a peaceful time. *also there arent much variety of flowers just the same ones arranged in different patterns. Though it looks great! *Its great for garden lovers! There are a lot of stalls related to gardening. But the thing is all stall kindof keep the same items with same price thus you wont find a lot of variety or uniqueness. Also you can find stalls related to paintings, chips. *There a lot of food stall with items prices just as high as you would find in any decent restaurants out there. Also the sitting area is not enough for the huge crowd. *They have made available those temporary type washroom from place to place along with a permanent one(of the garden itself). When i had visited it was fairly clean but dont think it would be maintainable for such a crowd. *There's a lot of parking but even if it gets full they allow parking around the toll booth ahead or area around it. *Given the narrow road and heavy flow of vehicles on both sides its traffic will definitely be jam. Thus the authorities dont allow people coming from the hadapsar side road wait and cross the road to enter empress garden to avoid severse jam. instead they ask you to go ahead and take a U turn from somewhere ahead and come in joining the other side of the road.

A beautiful garden with age old trees. Entry ticket was Rs 20 for age above 5. Lots of age old trees are there so the garden is overall very shady. There were a few fountains. Several benches are available for sitting. Few stalls selling juice, cotton candy pop corn, vada pav etc can be seen. There is big play area for kids with lot of play gyms. There are a few paid services like trampoline for Rs. 30 for 10 mins, pedal boat for kids Rs. 50 for 5 mins, jumping castle Rs. 50 for 5 mins, water play area for Rs. 30. A dragon train ride that takes for 5 rounds, a small train ride, bike merry go round, car merry go round are also there at a cost. Balloon shooting was there. Slides, climbing structures, swings are available for free. Visited during the flower show. The flowers were a delight to watch. There were different arrangements made. Lots of colourful flowers. There were several stalls that sell plants, fertilisers, pots, garden tools and accessories in all ranges. A few edibles selling stalls were also there. Food stalls too were there. A train ride for Rs. 20, horse ride, chariot rides were available. The garden was over crowded due to the flower show. They have ample parking space for two and four wheelers at Rs 10 and Rs 20 respectively. Other than that many cars can be seen parked outside on the road side and another parking area on the diagonal opposite side of the garden entrance. Restrooms and hand wash area are available.

Visited Empress Garden after quite some time again recently. This place seems to be a hotspot for commercial photography as I saw more than 3 groups of commercial photographers with extensive equipment and props along with models with their ornate clothes getting dirty in mud. The trees and very old and form a very dense canopy. There is a small train which takes kids (and sometimes elders) on a tide around the premises. The Empress Garden Nursery is located inside the garden premises. The nursery is vast with quite a lot of variety of plants. However half the plants I asked for were unavailable at the time. The staff is helpful but the person escorting me around albeit polite and helpful, seemed less interested in showing me around (and I got the impression that I was told the plants I was looking for were unavailable just because he wasn't bothered to go and look for them, but I'd like to stay positive and assume it wasn't the case). Nevertheless, there are some rules in the nursery which are needed to be implemented for the nursery to stay serene and calm, the way it is- no loitering and entering without intent of buying plants, bringing foodstuff and eating them inside, and being anti-social in general (all 3 things I saw happening inside). The nursery is cost effective and the quality of the plants is good as well. The soil they come in does not have any contaminants in them and I haven't found any problems with it so far.
