Disappointed with Their Payment Policy

I recently had a disappointing experience at Diamond Bakery, Fatima Nagar. I made a purchase of around ₹700 and paid via Google Pay without any issue. However, when I returned about 30 minutes later to buy items worth ₹285, they refused to accept Google Pay, saying that payments below ₹400 must be made in cash.

This is an unfair and inconvenient policy. Customers should have the right to choose their preferred payment method, whether cash or digital. In today's world, where digital payments are widely encouraged, it's frustrating that a business would impose such restrictions. Most bakery purchases are small, so forcing cash payments for lower amounts is just bad practice.

It makes me wonder if they are doing this to avoid digital transactions for some reason. Either way, it’s highly inconvenient and unfair to customers. If you're visiting, make sure you carry cash, or you might be forced to buy more than you actually need just to meet their payment limit.

They have an amazing spread of bakery products. The Mawa sponge cake is absolutely amazing. Other products you must try are the walnut cake, shrewsbury biscuits, and macroons. Their sandwiches are yummy too. Their Chicken sandwich is a hit with my family members and since I'm a vegetarian I go for the chutney sandwich. That is good too. I've been buying their sponge cake for years and can confidently say, they make the best mawa sponge cakes in Pune if not in the world! The best part about their products is that they are of top notch quality and every single product is fresh - be it their breads, pastries, sandwiches or cookies. Another item to try here is their cup puddings - these come in chocolate, pineapple and strawberry flavours. Another reason why I love this place is that it opens at 6am and there's nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning. 2 wheeler parking is easily available and you can find a parking for 4 wheelers if it is just a halt.
