Kula Wild Adventure Park is Fiji's biggest Family Fun Park and Ecological Preserve.
It is located on Fiji's largest island, Viti Levu, in Korotogo near Sigatoka.
Initially established as a 'bird park' in the late 1980s, the Park displayed typical species but ran into hard times. By 1996, the Park was in shocking condition with most birds in dire need of proper nutrition and care. Kula Eco Park Management bought the Park in 1997 and immediate action was taken to save the Park's inhabitants.
It sits on a 28 acre property set in three beautiful valleys, with 12 acres of very dense coastal forest. There are huge walk-through enclosures that put the visitor inside the habitats of their kula (collared lory), resident parrots, doves, water birds, bats, and reptiles.
Marine displays of ocean turtles, soft and hard coral, and tropical fish provide a glimpse of the spectacular marine world that surrounds the 300+ Islands of Fiji.
With almost a kilometer of wooden walkways, bridges, rest areas and two (very expensive) cafes, the park provides their visitors with the opportunity to experience the ‘wild side’ of Fiji in comfortable and safe surroundings.
I had the opportunity to hold a rare Fijian Iguana at the interaction area. I absolutely hate things that scuttle and scurry, and I was SO scared that I was just shaking all over. I drew the line at holding the Boa Constrictor!
Then there is not forgetting their Rollercoaster Zip Rail, the first of its kind in Fiji. As well as a kiddies splash pool with water jets, slides, and more.
Every visit is vital to the Breeding Programmes and Student Education Courses they offer and they heavily rely on public support.
It is actually extremely expensive for what you get. The kids would appreciate it more, but at $75 per adult, $35 per child, and $3 one small scoop ice creams, it's going to be a very expensive day out.
Note: the outside step is very high with no railings. I had to hold on to the column/post and pull myself up. The wheelchair ramp is so steep that it wasn't an...
Read more0 out of 5 😡😡😡 The guy at the reception first pretended not knowing about the family rate I was quoted yesterday and kept pointing at the laminated full prices at the desk. When I showed him their Facebook announcement of 30% discount he told me that it was for "locals" only and didn't honour the family rate. We drove 76km with two young children only to be told to pay full fees. No way, money hungry dishonest merchant! My daughter cried cause she was looking forward to this so much. The fool should know not to discriminate against overseas tourists! The only person he fooled was himself! There was no body else there! Pretty sad if you ask me.
Responding to your comment below, that's not true at all. I said I was quoted FJD166 for the whole family and that's what I was going to purchase. I was very frustrated with the level of customer service and lack of honesty. You can say whatever you want but the truth is: you should be ashamed of yourself. I never said that I was a local, and you never asked over the phone whether I was one. Let's face it, the majority of your customers who can afford the price would be overseas travellers. We did not ask for for a discount after the confrontation and disappointment because you were very clear that you were not going to honour your offer over the phone. We are not the kind of people who like to haggle. We either take or leave an offer. Now you're trying to paint a different picture and make yourself sound better than what you...
Read moreWife and I had some free time in the morning, so wandered from our resort, over to Kula WILD Adventures, having looked at the enticing promotional material online. Were relieved of $100 FJD (Approx. $67 AUD) for entry, being informed it hosted around a kilometer of boardwalk through the jungle, with varying attractions, wildlife, etc. Well, I can honestly advise, that you keep your money in your pockets folks, and seek alternative adventures. It houses a small coral display, a hawksbill sea turtle (singular), and a handful of native birds, lizards, snakes, and other reptiles, of similar species, in large aviaries/small enclosures. The pool and singular water slide were not in operation, and looked like they hadn't been for some time. The flying fox/zipline was completely overgrown by jungle and in disrepair. The entire boardwalk was covered in black fungal growth (it is the tropics), which indicated it hadn't been pressure cleaned in a considerably long time, and as such, extremely slippery, accident waiting to happen. Some gripping strips had been affixed in various places, but all told, on less than 1% of the boardwalk. They need to close and renovate, or just...
