Åland Hunting and Fishing Museum — Attraction in Ålands Countryside

Visited the Hunting and Fishing Museum on the Åland Islands today — and I’m honestly amazed! Everything here is made with so much love and attention to detail, it truly feels like stepping back in time.

The old fisherman’s cottage especially stole my heart — it’s recreated so authentically inside, with a stove, tools, and a bed that looks like he just stepped out for a moment. You really feel like you’re peeking into his life.

This place is also perfect for kids! There’s a whole children’s room where they can color fish, stick them on nets, play and explore — and it’s all beautifully done.

I could walk around for hours — the exhibition is full of animals that look almost real: seals, moose, birds… each one seems like it might blink or move any second.

There’s also a fascinating collection of motors from different eras, a room with old hunting weapons, and displays showing how people used seal skin for clothing. It’s clear how much care was put into this place — they’ve gathered everything they could to tell this story.

And don’t miss the museum shop! It’s full of adorable souvenirs — seals, birds, moose — perfect for kids (or for yourself, let’s be honest 😄).

Highly recommend visiting — for families, couples, or solo travelers. It’s not just a museum, it’s an experience where time...

The museum is fully accessible for disabled people in electric wheel chair and the bathroom has the necessary size too.

The museum is very interesting and the things on display are very well described in Finnish, Swedish and English. The museum contains a lot of artifacts but the explanations makes it understandable and consumable even for non-hunters or non-fishermen.

Были в Музее охоты и рыбалки на Аландах (Ålands jakt- och fiskemuseum) — очень атмосферное и интересное место! Даже если вы не рыбак и не охотник, всё равно будет на что посмотреть. Экспонатов много, всё связано с жизнью на островах: старые лодки, снасти, всякие ловушки, снаряжение. Есть интерактивные штуки — детям будет интересно, можно понажимать, потрогать, поучаствовать.

Рядом огромный парк с животными — тоже обязательно к посещению, особенно с детьми. Добирались от порта Экерё — дорога живописная, идёт через мостик, виды шикарные. В шаговой доступности есть магазин, где можно купить продукты, и кафе — удобно, если хотите перекусить после прогулки. И, кстати, рядом — самый красивый причал/посад острова, выглядит прям как с открытки. Вход для инвалидов есть! Так же на территории 2 туалета. Доступ в каждую комнату организовал пандусами и переходами для инвалидов.

Плюсы: – Интересные экспонаты, всё красиво оформлено – Для детей есть интерактив – Рядом природа, парк, море – Есть магазин и кафе поблизости

Минусы: – Не весь текст на русском, но если знаете английский или шведский — разберётесь – Вне сезона может быть закрыто, лучше заранее проверить
