Eckerö Hotel & Restaurant — Hotel in Ålands Countryside

I really liked this restaurant. The menu is not big, but all the food I ordered during my week of staying, were really nice. I especially loved their fish dish called "Gøs", a delicious white fish served with a celeriac that just melted in my mouth! I will certainly try out that at home. Also try the asparagus soup and the plank steak with the most tender meat I have had in years. ||||Our room for two were actually quite big. And I loved the big space also in the shower. The staff was always nice, did their job fast and professional even though several of them seemed young and some had this work as a summer job. They spoke several languages. We stood in the hotel for only one night but it felt much longer (in a good way).||Eckero Hotell & Restaurang is a big hotel in the middle of Eckerö island not so far from a ferry harbor and really close to a huge fitness center in the middle of nowhere.||We were one out of only two couples staying there that night and we had an amazing experience with our host Mr. Karlsson. The uniqueness of the location, its food and beautiful nature make this place a must for everyone who's up for a tranquil rest far from any tourist destination. I have traveled on six of the seven continents and I don't think I have ever met a more gracious owner as I did here. Her name is very difficult to pronounce, but I think it is Cyrpha. Funny, welcoming, forthright, loves everybody, so much fun and so full of life. I felt welcomed the moment I walked into the reception area and really enjoyed my time there. Her husband also is in charge of the kitchen. The hotel is clean, restaurant was good, surroundings were peaceful. Very close to the ferry, about a five minute walk. Breakfast was good and Cyrpha is very proud of the fact that they source their eggs locally from the island. Steak platter was excellent for dinner.
