Helinä Rautavaara Ethnographic Museum — Attraction in Helsinki sub-region

Interesting ethnographic museum with exhibits and photos mainly from Africa and Asia (Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nepal, Myanmar, Afghanistan, India) and a few artifacts from Latin America. I liked the most the collection of African sculptures. The staff of the museum is nice, however I must admit that I felt a bit uncomfortable when one very young lady working there was following my every footstep about 2-3 m apart when I was the only visitor...

A great museum, went specifically to check out the Nairobi exhibition and wasn't disappointed - the virtual reality headset and video ls definitely brought it to life. Worth a visit, also has a great little gift shop selling handmade products. The permanent exhibition there bout Helinä's life is also interesting and has some artefacts you're unlikely to see elsewhere on...

Mielenkiintoinen etnografinen museo, jossa on näyttelyitä ja valokuvia pääasiassa Afrikasta ja Aasiasta (Sudan, Kenia, Etiopia, Nepal, Myanmar, Afganistan, Intia) ja muutamia esineitä Latinalaisesta Amerikasta. Pidin eniten afrikkalaisten veistoskokoelmasta. Museon henkilökunta on mukavaa, mutta täytyy myöntää, että tunsin oloni hieman epämukavaksi, kun siellä työskentelevä nuori nainen seurasi jokaista askeltani noin 2-3 metrin etäisyydellä toisistaan, kun olin tuolloin...
