After 30 years, I had the pleasure of revisiting Fort Siloso, and while much has changed, the essence of Singapore’s coastal defense history remains as powerful as ever. One of the highlights of my visit was the Skywalk. The elevated path offers stunning views from a high vantage point, with the refreshing sea breeze adding to the experience as you take in the magnificent landscape stretching back to the mainland. It’s a truly serene and captivating perspective that’s worth the walk. For history enthusiasts, Fort Siloso remains a treasure trove. The archive videos, particularly those detailing the fall of Singapore during World War II, provide deep insights into our nation’s military past. Foreign visitors will gain a better understanding of how Singapore's strategic defense is closely tied to its status as a global trade hub—a lesson that resonates strongly even today. From certain viewpoints, you can even catch a glimpse of Pulau Bukom in the distance. The landscape view would be even more expansive if not for the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa resort, but the experience is still breathtaking nonetheless. Whether you’re a local returning for a trip down memory lane or a tourist discovering Singapore’s military history for the first time, Fort Siloso offers a unique blend of history and natural beauty that shouldn’t be missed.

Fort Siloso is a really enjoyable place to visit. The park has many features including trails, a sky walk, old world war 2 bunkers and artillery. Not to mention the amazing view of Sentosa and Singapore from the viewing deck. Fort Siloso will be a delight to everyone that visits it, normal tourist and history enthusiast alike. The park makes you feel like you have travelled back in time into 1942 when Japan attacked Singapore. You get to enter World War 2 bunkers with mannequins of British soldiers in them. These bunkers are also outfitted with speakers that produce sound effects to make the experience feel more realistic and immersive. Scattered throughout the park are World War 2 era cannons that once served as Singapore's primary defence. There are a few downsides however. It can be quite expensive and difficult to enter Sentosa by car and find a parking lot near Fort siloso. There are wheelchair accessible entrances to Fort siloso but the trail is definitely inaccessible to those on wheelchairs. Alos, they would not be able to visit the bunkers because in order to access the bunkers you would have to climb a flight of stairs. The Fort Siloso trail is also not reccomended for children as the trail is quite steep and is slippery when wet. Overall Fort Siloso is an awesome place to visit with friends and family.

went on a friday afternoon and there was barely any visitors there exhibits were pretty informative and interesting. the indoor ones were pretty clean and had airconditioning and seating, so were pretty comfy. the outdoor ones had a lot of stairs which were steep/had uneven steps and there was a lot of uneven terrain. not unexpected from a historical site but that means this place might be unsuitable for children/elderly visitors or visitors with mobility issues some of the outdoor exhibits didnt have very good ventilation (like some underground places) so it was a bit uncomfy sticking around for too long esp w sg's humid weather but i guess that cant be helped :'-) there were guides around the indoor exhibits but for the most part, they let visitors explore the exhibits on their own and didnt do very much

You can take complimentary Sentosa Beach Tram to Siloso Point stop, walk past the cable car station to Fort Siloso Sky Walk. Take the elevator up to 11 storey high Sky Walk to have a good view of Siloso beach and the city. From there, you can walk towards the fort itself. It’s a great place for a detailed history introduction of Siloso and Singapore during and after WWII. There are quite some rooms, tunnels, underground to explore to. It itself is a museum and it’s FOC. Most of the rooms are air-conditioned. Following the whole trail, you will be led to the main entrance, from there, you can either catch Sentosa Bus 3 to your hotel, take cable car to Mount Fabre, or walk back to the beach. Highly recommended for family with kids or not, but it may be too much walking and stairs climbing for senior citizens.
