Globally, the station is great but this comment is particularly addressed to the company which manages the activity of dog sleds: the mushers were not at all professional and this is very disappointing to pay 156 € for 4 adults who will only have 15 mn of "sleigh ride" instead of the promised 30mn ! Sleigh ride is volontary with "" because doing 600m on a flat cross-country ski trail back and forth and furnishing by taking a 10-minute break to talk about the rain and the good weather, is necessarily very discontented.
You clearly have the impression of having been tricked by a "tourist trap" and we do not recommend this activity at all.
The purpose of this comment is that it goes back to the company concerned and that things change so that we can benefit the menuires from a real dog sledding activity or nothing at all but please, not of a tourist trap.
A lover of this beautiful resort. Sportingly.

Read moreLes Menuires consists of a number of Hamlets, spread around, we stayed in Les Bruyeres. On skis it's trivial to move around, but when you first arrive with your suitcase at the the central bus 'station' in Les Menuires it can be daunting. Don't worry there are free busses that operate throughout the day to get you to your 'Hamlet'. For example Bus B takes you to Les Bruyeres. Just ask at the bus station, as far as I can tell they seem to speak all languages. Each Hamlet seems to have its own ski rental, ski pass, supermarket and restaurants. We spent around €20 a day on food from the supermarket for two of us (excluding booze). Food on the slopes can cost anything from around €9 each and an evening meal around €30 each. If you order your ski pass before hand you don't have to wait in the queue, I just handed over my invoice to a member of staff who was managing the queue and my passes were in my hand in about a minute. The skiing is awesome. Almost guaranteed snow at 1850m. The skiing in the Les Menuires area provides for all skill levels with some nice challenging black runs and simple family centric green runs. Les Menuires is also connected to the Val Thorens area for sublime high altitude skiing (see my other review) and the Meribel area. If you want to get over to the Courchevel area then you need to be on your skis just after 0900 and be able to comfortably ski reds to make the route simple. We stayed in an apartment and these on the whole seem cheaper than those in Val Thorens but don't expect much in the way of space, I hired a 5 bearth apartment for me and my son so we had two rooms, but if there were 5 of us it would be cramped. On the whole it's a great resort and my son says it's not as 'up itself' as...
Read moreFirst time here and we are not comming back. The resort has no “town” where you can walk if you are not feeling like skiing. The shops and restaurants are very limited (it was impossible to find a restaurant for new years eve), and every other day they were almost always fully booked. The general level of the food was medium - poor and the prices ridiculously high. 80 euros for 2 people for 2 burgers and some soda and an expresso was the typical bill. The shopping area is confusing as you have to walk indoors like a labirint. The hotels are also very expensive for their quality. Higalik hotel is a total disaster, worst experience ever. The ski slopes are not very well identified. You never know exactly where you are or where to go. We also found that the snow should be better prepared during the night. A friend of us went down on Bettex slope in the end of the day and the lift was already closed when we reached the end. This area is a little isolated and there was no one to help. He had to hitchhike and fortunately found someone to bring him up to the resort. The slopes are abundant but not much interesting in terms of environment. All snow and that’s it. Between Les Menuires and Andorra, for example, 100...
