The best medieval festival I have seen in France 🇫🇷 A full days entertainment for people of all ages, reasonably priced at just 5€. The artisans all 65 of them had a huge variety of products to tempt you. The various events for example the falconry display was magical and the falconer was knowledgeable, kind and I loved every minute of the display ❤️ The chevaliers did an amazing job of entertaining everyone with jousting, sword play and one poor soul was wet through due to the sudden rain storm but continued to fight and play his part admirably ( such a pretty horse) ha ha.

Read moreAbsolutely brilliant Chateaux with some stunning architecture. Particularly impressive are two sides of the courtyard which have a strong renaissance feel with arcades set on three levels. This property has been in the same family for 43 generations. Some of the plans for these galleries and the grand staircase are attributed to Leonardo de Vinci. The staircase really is stunning consisting of 108 steps the widest being 4 metres. The tour of the libraries is well worth attending with a really good guide that engaged with young and not so young. I could go on and on about this Chateaux but for it is a must and a personal highlight of our trip. ...

Having remembered the days when the dowager Duchess explained about the family’s role over the centuries and been invited to look at the books in the library and the purpose of the archives. Just to have the two rooms open to walk through with no explanations. I appreciate that the castle requires expensive maintenance but they should offer their visitors a valuable experience. We were not even given an information sheet each. We had no children with us but the dressing up room was closed and the visit to the dungeon was closed as well. Both of these would make it a less rewarding outing...
