Mon fils a 14 ans. 14 ANS.

English translation

When looking at the photos, you may think that this place is a hidden gem, but it’s hidden for a reason. This chateau is soulless with not much to see in my opinion, and very underwhelming, and the park outside is smaller than my garden.

I already visited this place once, but this time I brought my son who wanted to visit, the tickets were free for children so I waited at the entry of the “chateau” while my son went inside. But during his visit, an employee started yelling at him to leave because he apparently didn’t have supervision. My son is 14 years old. 14 YEARS OLD. He can ride the metro alone, but in this “chateau” no bigger than a train compartment with only one entrance and exit, he needs supervision. So I talked to the man and he told me that it was part of the protocol, but that wasn’t the problem. He YELLED at a child. There wasn’t any signs at all that said that teens couldn’t visit this tiny “chateau” alone, so there was no reason at all to yell at my son. During my argument with him, he was still yelling, and when I accused him of yelling, he evidently lowered his voice pretend that he wasn’t yelling. He then said the reason that he was yelling because he was furious that there was always children alone in the “chateau”, SO WHY NOT MAKE A SIGN? When I proposed that solution, he just walked away because he didn’t want his ego and pride as big as his stomach to be hurt. He didn’t even say sorry to my son. My son wasn’t too sad that he couldn’t see all the inside of the “chateau” but his day was ruined by the rude employee. I’m sure that man is the reason why all foreigners think that French people are rude.

In all, even if you don’t encounter rude and impolite employees (not likely), don’t waste your time here. This “chateau” has poor access to transportation, and completely different from what the...

Château de Malmaison was probably the best experience I’ve had during my trip to Paris. The history of the chateau is interesting and the place itself is unbelievably beautiful and atmospheric. It feels like you are walking around the building that is still inhabited. The interior, the exterior and the surrounding area are stunning. I really recommend visiting this place for those who prefer such attractions that dive you into the ambiance fully and feel cozy to some huge sights like Chateau de Versailles, which I personally did not find as interesting to investigate. Also since there is no direct route on public transport to this place, you get a chance to enjoy your ~25min walk through a beautiful and quiet french neighborhood. Also, this sight is not really popular and I didn’t spend a minute to wait for the entry and the inside space did not have many people inside, so everybody could completely enjoy the experience without a huge crowd like it happens on many other...

As a UK expat living in Paris I have visited the location a few times with my daughter and found it to be a pleasant experience, however today I tried to visit with my girlfriend and we arrived by bicycle, upon leaving my cycle outside whilst I tried to enquire about tickets and closing times the security guard came over and in a very rude and aggressive manner told me I was not allowed to leave my cycle outside. I calmly explained I was just wishing to make an enquiry but he persisted with his rude manner and aggressive tone, I made it clear his manner and aggressive tone was very impolite and not expected from someone working at a tourist attraction, at this point he suddenly lost the ability to understand English stating he did not understand me, and walked off. My girlfriend was so upset by the whole event she no longer wished to enter so we left feeling very much attacked and aggrieved. This man should not be permitted to work in...

Chateau de Malmaison is the palace of Napoleon Bonaparte & his wife Josephine who died here at very young age. It is situated near Rueil Malmaison RER A. It's relatively on smaller scale compared to Louvre or Chateau de Vincennes or more eponymous Chateau de Versailles. However the art work & interiors you get to see are as good as any other palaces in & around Paris, especially the Chandelier, royal bed & furniture. The outer garden surrounding the museum is very beautiful where you can come for nice romantic or peaceful walk. The serene beauty of Chateau de Malmaison will have you captivated. There is a small entrance fee. You can reach this place by taking RER A to Rueil Malmaison & bus from station or bus 258 from La Defense. Totally recommended while you are in Paris.
