de Basse Terre Botanical Garden — Attraction in Basse-Terre

Sailing on Explora 2 and just did the day tour to waterfall, botanical gardena and stop at Kavasee ( spelling ? ). If you are from South Florida or any tropical area, I’d say maybe pass on this excursion.We have much more beautiful gardens locally then anything I saw here. Nice to see hummingbirds and flamingos though. Waterfall .. very very small. We were on the bus in total for 2 1/2 hours. Just my own...

We had a warm welcome by a guide who pointed us on the right way. The garden is well maintained and offers many shady spots to take a break and enjoy the calm. It’s worth a small detour when you’re in the neighborhood. I liked it better...

Un peu déçue. La signalisation pour y aller n'est pas claire. Une fois sur place il n'y a personne pour vous accueillir ou vous guider. Je voulais notamment voir le bâtiment sur la biodiversité dont on m'a dit beaucoup de bien. Bien qu'il soit clairement marqué que c'est ouvert de 8h à 17h, il n'y avait personne à 14h lorsque j'y étais. Personne ne répond aux numéros de téléphone indiqués sur divers sites internet. Le jardin botanique est joli (de beaux arbres, quelques explications) mais petit. Bref -- à faire si vous êtes dans le coin et que vous n'avez rien à faire. Sinon passez...
