We went on a day trip to France from UK by DFDS Ferry With our personal vehicle. This was from Dover to Calais. We had kids with us ranging in age from 13 to 4. There were enough and more activities to keep them all engaged and happy for more than 4 hours. We also went by the dragon ride. It was so fun when after getting down from the ride, the dragon sprayed us with water. The zipline, the slides with stacks, sand shovels and many more kept the kids engaged. The skate park would have been more enjoyable if we had carried skates or scooters.Toilets were available everywhere. Food options were also in plenty. We enjoyed crepes, waffles and coffee. Parking was also free. There was plenty of walking space. Definitely...

I had never been to Calais beach before last week (when I missed a ferry and had to do something with myself). It is beautiful, vast, well maintained and simply amazing! It was a warm and sunny day so going to see the beach was a good idea. The seafront restaurant owner was lovely and it was nice to sit outside watching the passing ferries entering the harbour. Going closer to the beach, there was more than enough benches for people to sit along the beach. The tide was low therefore the beach was really wide, with lovely, clean, fine sand. Next to the entrance there were two volleyball courts with youngsters playing the game. I decided to come back to Calais for more beach + food and drink experience over one of...

Came over to Calais for a day out back in August 2025. The promenade was awash with families and visitors, everyone was happy and enjoying the facilities available. It was a bit breezy on the day I visited so not too much happening on the beach itself but there was a skatepark, a playground and I see that there was a bike hire place there too. DDC if your reading this take note and do it on our beach. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve got kids and taking a day trip to Calais. Probably will...

This beach is a dream, perfect water, sand and environment. There is a high level of swimming security and enough space to play every game u want (Beach Tennis, Volleyball, Football etc.). Actual megaphone announcements are for the well-being of the guests (UV-warnings, dangerous sea etc.). When sitting there one can also watch ferries arriving and departing from the nearby harbor. Definitely worth a shot if u are in the region.
