Great to be be on French soil where motor homes are welcome and well provided for by vertuly every district, unlike the unhospiltable attitude of the British councils whom make it quite clear they don't want us around. Barriers on car parks, very few sea front parking bays, bus parking, wagon parking, car parking but if a motorhome parks in a wagon bay or coach bay due to there size we get a ticket from a traffic warden who can not advise you where you can park. Britten looses much needed tourism from continental European tourists due to this poor attitude. By the way motor homes travel all year round and want to visit a vast number of towns and places, but very few cator for this growing trend in our country. I myself and hundreds of owners like me take winter breaks in our motor homes abroad where we are welcomed. Our money is spent in contientle cafes and shops.. The continental Aire system for motor home stop overs needs to find its way over the channel to Britten to take advantage of this growing trend. You will be suprised at how much revenue is being lost due to the Brittish attitude and stupid parking laws. Our beach fronts are empty in the winter, if only are small section was set aside with a wash out and clean water fill up dedicated for motor homes only, I'm pritty sure once owners got to know it was there it would be full all year. Shops restouraunts businesses would all benefit from the much needed income. We have a lot to offer for this type of tourisum in this country, but knothing to harness it. Wake up councils you are loosing revennew for the shops and business...

One of the best camps of the previous 15 camps we had stayed in all around Europe. It was spotlessly clean, cheap as chips and 5 minutes from a lovely sandy beach and a 20 minute walk from calais town and some great restaurants. We will definantly be camping in calais...
Read moreVisited the beach in the evening towards the end of May. The temperature was around 17 degrees. Since it was the beginning of summer, we had the whole place to ourselves. A nice windswept stretch of beach to while away the time. Plenty of Airbnb places to stay nearby. If you have kids, there are plenty of play areas nearby for all ages. The pier is a nice place for fishing and to watch ferries plying to and fro from Dover, U.K which is the closest to continental...
