Plage Municipale Du Bourget Du Lac — Attraction in Chambéry

Outrageous situation! We drove for 5 hours to this public beach. Checked the info on the website. Arriving today on Monday 23-d od August 2021, at 3 pm, and at the entrance they tell us in order to enter, we must provide covid certificate or negative test or vaccine( which is all by the way a CONFIDENTIAL information) and that it is not on the website. But of course this "rule" is valid from 10 am to 18 pm. Rest of the time it's FREE OF CHARGE and no absurd demand on covid certificates...when will the world wake up? A PURE DISCRIMINATION of population for non-logical and illegal rules and actions! We are very unhappy as tourists who visit...

There are some trees which provide shade but not enough. I would advise to come early to find a good spot in the grass. It is possible to rent surf bikes for a reasonable price and seems quite fun. The water is clean and fresh. The views are beautiful and very peaceful to sit in the shade and sun towards the right side of the lake because on the left there are a lot of games for children. If you have children I would definitely recommend to go there as there are some games and water fountains. The small bar also sells ice-cream and water for a very good price (1.5L of water €3). Spent a very happy couple of mornings here swimming from the pier and enjoying the lake and the views. Not many places offer clean, easy swimming with the foothills of the alps in the background! Charges around 3 Euros per person for entry, but there are toilets, lifeguards a nice long pier to jump in the water as well as grassy areas and some benches to sit on.
