Hereby some IMPORTANT TIPS from my visit from yesterday:
Be on time!! 10.00 is far too late. 09.15 max is a good time. After 09.30 the line will be many and many and many meters long.
All days in the summer holiday will be busy.
If you arrive at 9-ish you can park your car outside the Aqualand for free, just next to the roundabout. Payed parking is 4 EUR. Waiting line is a separate line.
Reserve your tickets online. So you don't have to wait it in the Tickets line. Go the the entrance lines.
Buy fastpass tickets. Regular: 20 EUR (limited to a mx number of slides). Premium: 30 EUR (unlimited). If you dont buy those tickets, expext waiting time 60-90 minutes for a slide. With a faspass ticket it is a few minutes. You can only buy the tickets IN the park at the Aquashop (2nd line). NOT in advance, NOT at the tickets counter! Fastpass tickets do only work for the most famous slides. Limited tickets available?
Buy a ticket for a bed 4 EUR and a locker 7 EUR at the aquashop. You will get 2 EUR back from the locker at the Aquashop of you get the key back to them. The beds will be checked if you pay for them and if you lie on the bed. If you only leave a towel on a bed, and you are not at the bed, your bed will not be checked (free bed).
However, plenty of trees to put your towel under (shadow) next to the purple slide.
Take your own drinks with you.
Buying food tickets in advance online does not make sense. You have to wait in the same line as everbody else. To use the tickets, you HAVE TO go first to the ticket office. You will get two coupons to spend at the restaurant. You cannot give the QR code directly at the restaurant!
The photo with the birds will cost you 15 EUR for one and 25 EUR for two. You can decide if you have seen the photos later in the day. Card and cash.
Paying with cash is difficult in general.
Expect some ants in your coffee or drink.
Vertigo slide waiting time, even with fastpass, is 2-3 hours. Just mad, bloody mad. Just don't do it (and you will burn from the sun in the waiting line), or do it as first or last slide on your day. Just use all the other slides instead of waiting for the Vertigo. This slide has had accidents in the past.
All these tips are from my own experience and not listed (yet) on the FAQ of the park. I think they...
Read moreDon’t go to this water park, it is awful. There are many cheaper, better things to do in the area.
It’s frankly too expensive for what it is (an old water park), there are no modern slides (they are just basic tubes with a splash landing), the queues are far too long (over an hour for the most popular slides, in August) and the whole thing is poorly organised, over full and under staffed
But by far the worst thing is the food. We waited in line for an hour to get burgers and chips. When we eventually got them, the burger bun was stale, the burger was drowned in ketchup, and the chips were cold. I think it’s the worst meal I’ve ever had!
We are a family of 4, kids are 11 and 13 and the cost was €104 for entry and €68 on lunch (you can also by a fast pass for €20 per person (!) which does speed things up considerably). However, you can spend half as much at a beach doing some water sports- and have a decent meal once you’re done.
They have a captive audience during the summer months and have clearly chosen to allow standards to drop through the floor to maximise profits, knowing they’ll still get a full house of naive holiday makers.
People need to be aware of how awful this place is so we can vote with our feet and force them to improve standards, invest in new slides, make the food edible and offer better value for money overall.
I have never written a Google review before- I generally take things in my stride and make the best of situations- but this place is so terrible I feel people need to know to avoid it at all costs, until something is done to improve this horrible stain on the...
Read moreIf you’ve watched capitalism a true love story (on Netflix), you’ll gonna love this place. You will receive the full capitalist experience. Locker €5 after deposit return, sun-bed €4 each, tampon €2 each. Queue for ride at least 30-90 min depends on the slide, you will enjoy watching those who purchased with fast pass come off and go back up the ride every few minutes, it’s so ridiculous they put all the fast pass floats of the side and you can only queue and wait for the few normal floats. Not only that but the fast pass applies to those waiting for the floats and then they also jump the queue for the slide itself. That means you queue for a hour for the float and then another 10-30 minutes to ride. Unless you pay €30 for the fast pass, there’s no point… Talking of queues you’ll have to queue just like the rides for lunch, took us 45 minutes, food was great but they need a more efficient food part. Obviously if we spend a hour with the fast food then we won’t be on the slides so even easier with the profits… Oh and if you drive be prepared to be locked in by security unless you pay their hidden €4 parking fee, it’s written in small writing on the gate so when you argue it there’s a huge queue of cars behind you and they shut the front gate so no-one can leave. I love capitalism just as much as anyone else but when we are absolutely squeezed for profit it just ruins the customer’s enjoyment, this sector is for the service of the customer, their enjoyment, profit is acceptable and understandable but aqua-land as a business need to understand people are their business and they will loose...
