For me, this was the best show of the day! As if you were back in Roman times with the crowd cheering their favourite charriot team. Blue, green, red and white teams. It was nothing like the Nika uprising though.

The Puy de Fou app didn't translate again, but I think I heard the name of Diocletian, the Emperor who ruled from 284 to 305 CE and is also known to be the last emperor to persecute most severe the Christians. This was also part of the show.

The end of the show was spectacular with the centre piece of the charriot race being transferred in a giant Roman galley warship, a bireme which was a crucial part of the Roman navy for centuries.

The most interactive and immersing of the shows, you are either placed on team Romans or team Gaulois (depending on where you are seated, I personally thought the Gaulois were the most fun!) and you watch as both fight in the arena in all sorts of ways (spoiler alert: there are chariot races, sword fights and even a boat?). The actors were for sure some of the best in the park and they made it an unforgettable experience!

Full scale Roman games in a 7,000-seat Roman colloseum. Depending where you sit, you are supporting either the Romans or the poor undertrod Gaulois, with lots of chanting, thumb-waving and Mexican waves. It's all excellent fun, and, as most things 'Puy-duFou', the costumes, and props are spectacular! If you want to be on the side of the Gauls (most fun) sit on the side nearest the entrance street.
