Plage du Petit Sergent — Attraction in La Rochelle

Lovely beach, and the only one that technically permits dogs on the Île de Ré all year long from 100 metres West of the main entrance. That being said, locals themselves seem to ignore the signs on other beaches at certain times of the day. This beach has lovely sand, clear water, and nice rock pools when the tide is out.

As per other beaches we've visited on the island, be careful of the beautiful jellyfish that occasionally drift close to shore (in June, at least). Don't let that put you off though!

pretty empty in june.. but it was 33C and crazy hot.. you needed a shade structure for sure.

no seaweed or yucky stuff but unfortunately lots of rocks once you get in and smallish waves not good for much.

anyway i don't really know how you rate a beach, but i think there are probably better ones on the island for families/surfers/boogie boarders/liveliness.

this beach appears to have ramps for accessibility but you might want to double check that. it's also relatively close to the water so you don't have to hike out a mile.

Plage sympa et sauvage. toilettes a l'entrée de la plage 2 parking à proximité .plage accessible aux handicapés. A droite de l'entrée de la plage une petite digue en Roché avec un accès en caillebotis marque le début d'une plage autorisée au chien sur 100 mètre mais tenus en laisse . 300 mètres après cette digue le naturisme est toléré. Petit bémol cette plage à été investi par les kite surfer qui malgré la beauté de leurs voiles prennent beaucoup de place sur la plage le temps de gonfler leurs voiles et qui représentent un danger pour les baigneurs le temps qu'ils prennent le large où qu'ils accostent Il manque également un détail a cette plage qui concerne nos amis à 4 pattes c'est un panneau autorisant leurs présences .
