The battlements are located atop a hill overlooking Crémieu village. If you climb to the top, you will be rewarded with a great view of the surrounding hills as well.
The ruins are so well-preserved, you feel as though you are actually walking the grounds of an active medieval castle. What at first seems like a quick visit can easily turn into a leisurely 1.5-hour tour, as you gradually discover the different walls and towers, stop to examine the moss-covered walls and take pictures of the flowers and mushrooms on the ground.
