Great stop for the family. The setting is gorgeous. The lake.. the castle as a backdrop… it’s beautiful. The castle can be visited, which I actually recommend because there are some beautiful interiors to see. It’s well kept and interesting. Plus there are nice views into the lake. Next to the beach you’ll find a beach where kids can safely swim. There are also some water activities (bouncy structures to play for kids), canoeing etc. It’s a bit pricey but not outrageously so. The kids will have a blast. Parking can be a bit gnarly if you arrive late. Read moreA stunning small château in a beautiful position. Very reasonable admission price of €6.50pp. Not very big but particularly liked the fact that you are free to roam at will (printed guide supplied, in various languages). Each floor renovated in slightly different ways - and no ropes, barriers, or 'do not touch' signs. I hope people respect this so that it doesn't change. Loved it and will return... They also have a 'gite' in part of the château - what a marvellous place to spend a few days - particularly out of main tourist season. Beaches, a cafe/restaurant and boat trips complete the picture - a great day out...
Read moreA beautiful castle right by a lake calls for making a photo (with the family and what have you). The amazing thing is that you and your kids can swim right around the castle in the lake. There are even air jumping objects in the water for the kids. You can also find pedalo's. And even go for a speedy shave of the water behind a speed boat. Site is recommended with sunny weather! The castle is a bit as any castle on the inside. The stories in it based on the few furnitured rooms and the family names in the drawings does a vivid call on the imagination. Visit takes you to 4 floors, but don't expect a lot...
