I'd love to give this place 5 stars but I can't due to the security patrolling the place. We visited to explore the site and swim there and we were disappointed to find that swimming was only allowed in the lower section. Three security guards were stopping people from swimming the pots despite it not having rained for weeks and the flow through the falls was very slack.

I'm from the UK and we have plenty of waterfalls that are dangerous but we don't have people patrolling them keeping you out. We also have "The Strid" near us and that is widely regarded as the most dangerous stretch of water in the world. It has a sign by it telling you of its dangers, not security stopping you from killing yourself, which is precisely what will happen if you...

Beautiful cascades, we had tons of fun here. BUT, BEWARE OF YOUR BELONGINGS. We had our towel and car key on the bank of the river in eye-sight. It was taken at some point in the 2 hours we were there, our rental car was stolen and driven about 40 minutes away toward Nimes, they took what they wanted and then burned our car to erase the evidence. We lost everything, literally all we had left was our swimsuits. We had wonderful hosts at a nearby Air BnB that helped us greatly, but without them we wold have been in real trouble. Local police seemed pretty indifferent to the situation, seems typical for this area based on what we heard at the police station. Let our misfortune help you safeguard your fun at the cascades, they are beautiful and...

Once you park your car you have 2 option available one is pay and second is avoid paying (3 euro per person) if you want to avoid then take a bridge be quick and careful with kids as it is small bridge and cars are moving from both ends once the bridge end turn right (which has berigate) you need to walk around 700-800 meter straight (roads are stroller friendly) then you will see waterfall and if you walk little bit more you will find beach ⛱️ for bathing too (yes you need to go down bt it's easy)

This way you will avoid paying 3 euro per person

Place and view...

The falls of Sautadet are sure worth a visit, not so much for the waterfalls but for the fabulous landscape that was created by the river. It is forbidden to swim at the falls but hike down the river to the Plage Cascades du Sautadet and have a refreshing swim between the rocks in the river Cèze! It's even safe to jump off the rocks, just make sure the water is deep enough (check where other people jump off the rocks!) and wear water shoes. There is a guarded parking upstream and you'll reach the falls and plage within a short walk.

Fab little area to go bathing...like a large swimming pool.Rocky underwater but nice.Plenty of areas to put a towel or picnic blanket down.We parked in the carpark just by the old bridge.Few hours cost about 4"20. Little walk to the actual area. Not an easy one very rocky...you cant swim in the cascades as far to dangerous. But wish we had brough a rubber ring to muck about in.
