Although the place is nice the staff is terrible. There are 2 old ladies who have no idea how to use the credit card and don't speak English. I paid the tickets cash but after the visit I wanted to buy a T-shirt for my daughter. I offered to pay cash but they asked for card. I used the card contacless but it didn't work. Then I inserted the card placed the PIN but they withdrew the card before the transaction was over and said my card was bad. My husband got angry and we left but right as I was going out I got a message from the bank that my transactuon was authorized. I returned to check with the ladies and I got reprimanded like a child by them because we left suddenly without admitting that the problem was my card. They said we were rude and asked if we were Italians because they had problems with Italians. We are not Italians but these ladies are clearly biased. They claim the transaction was not made. I checked with the bank but they can't tell me until next week if the transaction was performed or not. So...managers of the museum, please teach your staff how to perform transactions with the credit card! And ask them to respect the tourists, no matter where...
Read moreWe were so grateful to have come to this Museum. A modest yet wonderful collection & a hands-on taste of Roman History. Make sure to check out the basement level. For Anglophones there are no translations inside, but a laminated English printed guide you can borrow and follow along outside for the ruins. My Canadian-education French levels were enough to get by, with the occasional word looked up w/ my downloaded GoogleTranslate app. Highly recommend a visit if you are interested in history. A few of the indoor exhibits are interactive for little ones as well.
In my opinion, it was well worth the 10€ each for us for the day pass. There is no option for paying just for one site - no matter what you’re getting the day pass with access to the other museums. I believe this would have been included in the 26€ French Riviera Côte d’Azure tourist pass as well. With our day pass we went to the Matisse museum next door, and that afternoon the Modern & Contemporary Art Museum too. Wonderful value, all included in...
Read moreIt's an alright museum to visit if you have the museum pass and can get in for free. If not, you're not missing much if you don't speak French. Most of the materials are in French, so I had to rely on google translate to figure out what I was looking at. Also, when I was there, there were 2 group of elementary school children running around with their teachers inside the museum. I wondered if I was at a museum or a playground. It was absolutely horrendous and loud considering that I was at a museum. The staff didn't bother to lower down the volume of the kids at all. I don't know what's with Nice and school children taking over museums, but every single museums I have been to, there were groups of 30 students turning the place into a playground. I understand that they're learning from outside the classroom, but so are other visitors. I hope school in France teach their students manners too. If you come to any museum in Nice, be aware that it is very likely that you would be in the...
