It’s really nice to see and probably a unique nature spectacle in the area. The access is, however, more difficult than you would expect from what tourist authorities tell you. If you don’t arrive by sea, there are in my view to options to get there: Use Rue David Holef, follow it until the end. You can do a U turn at the end. And there is enough space for 2-3 cars to park. We experienced, however, that the access to this street was often closed by a gate. Use the unnamed (and a bit hidden) street that is, from the entrance to Rue David Holef, 578m further towards Sandy Ground/Marigot. It’s paved at the beginning, then a bit sandy, but no problem with a regular car. There is a parking for 5-6 cars at the end. Follow the path to the northwest for some 40m. You’re at the waterfront. It’s easy to walk along the water for less than five minutes. You can then walk along the wall/fence of the private estate (but you will always remain on public ground). This is a 5-minute trip worth the effort. Be prepared to walk a bit through the water (just your feet) and to do a few climbing like steps to get to the Devil’s Hole. I did the walk with my flip flops, not a problem at all. Taking into account that the area used to be more touristy and is now partly destroyed, weathered and abandoned, it’s quite an interesting place to explore (besides the actual highlight being the hole). The beaches are by far less attractive than Baie Rouge (unless loneliness is the only thing that...

I recommend finding the sinkhole on Google Maps and then navigating your way there manually once you get to the Nettle Bay area. With this method you will easily find the road/path to the sinkhole. It appears as a small blue hole on the map to the east of a big house. Keep in mind the road you take to start your short walk to the top of David's hole looks like you are entering through a private security checkpoint. Follow that road to the dead end where there is a turn-around loop. Use your phone to navigate your way to the hole(it's up around the left from where you park). :)
Enjoy! Tremendous views here. Hopefully you have the place to yourself...
Read moreThis place....you HAVE to stop here!! You are going to probably miss the entrance, but it is there. Ask at the Cardisco(?) gas station if you need help finding it. It is down a looong road to what feels like nowhere. There are some turn offs to the right, but they aren't to the beach and the hole. They are to the abandoned property. Keep going on the "main" abandoned road until you get to the end basically. It comes out at the beach and water area. The hole itself is off to the left, but it's worth walking around and checking out the rest of the area. It's an amazing view down into the hole and around. It's beautiful water and rocks with cacti and other foliage. We saw a large lizard too, which...
