Les Jardins de Cadiot — Attraction in Sarlat-la-Canéda

This was our second visit to this fabulous mix of gardens in five years. There is a great diversity of plants with varieties chosen for their aesthetic and ecological value. The owners are to be commended for the way they have integrated the design of the gardens to sit perfectly within the beautiful landscape which surrounds the Dordogne. Absolutely stunning garden hidden away among windy roads in a little valley. We were welcomed so warmly by the owner who spoke perfect English and explained the environmental and sustainable approach she has taken to encourage wildlife and particularly bees to her garden. Meander along the paths and sit at the many shady spots, listen to the water and enjoy! We took a picnic and spent our time very enjoyably. Absolutely beautiful garden, planted with sections in a variety of styles, including wild, woodland, orchard and cottage garden areas as well as a more traditional European formal garden.
