Café-Resto de la Gare Robert Doisneau — Restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda

Food was good if a little overpriced for the portion sizes- we had burgers with nice home made chips and our daughter had steak haché.

However the service was very poor, the waitress ignored us for some time on arrival even though it wasn’t that busy, plonked our plates down quite abruptly and then studiously avoided any eye contact and ignored my very polite attempts to call her over (in French!) to order a dessert instead choosing to wipe down every empty table. The 2 ice creams then took an absolute age to arrive.

What a waste of time this cafe is. We turned up on a quiet day - around four people in the place. As we entered, a couple came out saying they had been refused a coffee. We tried to order drinks and ice cream sundaes from the menu - "Sorry, I'm too busy now to serve ice cream - come back in an hour" was the response. Too lazy! I would suggest. After we had then looked round the gallery next door, we came back to our car to hear another couple bemoaning the inability to get served. Clearly whoever runs this establishment is not in the...

Food is great, but service is terribly slow as one very young girl is serving the whole terrace with over 50 people having diner at the same time, working twice as fast as her colleagues.

The waitress only speaks French, with half of the guests being from the Netherlands (most are speaking English very well). We finished diner with Nescafé instant...
