Plage de Stagnolu — Attraction in Sartène

It’s no more than ten minute trek from the parking along the busy road to the other popular beach nearby. If you’re mobility challenged, it can take longer and I don’t recommend taking the path but the road from the main beach might be doable, not sure! There was lots of either seaweed or plant life on the beach but it wasn’t stinky and I am quite seaweed and smell averse. The red grains of sand where the tiny waves broke along the shore was lovely, and the water was a wonderful temperature, and once you waded past mid thigh depth there was very little seaweed and it was clear and nice, also again the seaweed present was non offensive kind, once in the water I didn’t want to get out. I recommend it for a walk and a quick dip, but the beach part itself was meh, though it was not overcrowded at all on a very busy day in high season. The walk over had nice views of surrounding hills. Good for avoiding crowds, good water feel, no smell but definitely not clean of aquatic and shore plant detritus. The beach is apparently one of the few nudist beaches on Corsica at the far end, but most folks there were in swimming suits, maybe some topless women here and there, but we weren’t...

Abbiamo raggiunto questa spiaggia a piedi dalla vicina Plage La Tonnara e, già solo il paesaggio incontrato lungo il percorso vale la pena. C'è anche un'altra strada, sempre da percorrere a piedi, ma più comoda e veloce che parte dal parcheggio de La Tonnara, anche se abbiamo visto qualche fuoristrada parcheggiato alla fine della strada sterrata. Stagnolu è completamente immersa nella natura, tra rocce e vegetazione e la vista dall'alto è meravigliosa. Quando ci siamo stati noi gran parte della spiaggia di sabbia fine e candida era ricoperta di alghe e uno strato era presente anche vicino a riva. Le zone senza alghe però avevano acqua azzurra e limpida, anche se sicuramente la parte centrale, dove sono ormeggiate le imbarcazioni (sempre troppe per i miei standard) é quella in cui l'acqua dà il meglio di sé perché completamente priva di alghe. Alle spalle dell'arenile ci sono dune di sabbia recintate, mentre la parte in fondo a sinistra è nudista. Hike there and you won’t regret it. If you have a off-road proven car/bike, you can get pretty close to the beach.

We went there in the middle of August and it was not crowded at all. Clear water, pink sand. A beauty.
