Toutatis — Attraction in Senlis

Oh boy!! We finally got to France to ride Toutatis, the sublime 2023 Intamin launch coaster, and we were even more blown away than we expected! And let me tell you, our expectations were very high! The theming, the station and the train are all amazing and set the scene, you are immersed! But then the ride itself it what it is all about!! Those launches are incredible, especially the 2 backward launches into the spike which drive you out of your seat and the air out of your body! The ride is packed with ejector airtime, the awesome spike and the zero g roll! This is up there with Gotham City Escape and Taron, it's a MUST ride. The only thing to damage our amazing experience was the 4 obnoxious French guys who pushed past everyone in the queue and when challenged one of them cried that his wife was ahead and he should be allowed to get to her. This was pure lies and then when we stood our ground he and his friends just abused us with a stream of French and pushed us out of the way. What a way to let your country and the amazing Parc Asterix down, what an ugly experience. The queue jumping in this park is terrible. I do appreciate that the park did sometimes have security in the line to deal with these selfish bullies. Another small issue was when the coaster went down for technical difficulties and the announcements were made only in French. This is a bit thoughtless to your non-French speaking guests who are also standing in line for an hour in the baking sun in a non moving queue with no idea what is going on. Overall, the coaster is stunning and one of the top 5 coasters in Europe and it's just perfection. If you love smooth, element packed, fantastic launch coasters then this is for you. Get to Parc Asterix and...

On va commencer par le commencement. Déjà les avis négatifs sur l’attraction concernant les temps d’attente sont pas logique…. Déjà de 1 , on note l’attraction, pas le parc. De 2 , une nouveauté de classe mondiale vous vous attendez à quoi ? A 10min d’attente ? Et bah non! Il suffit de venir en semaine ou de prendre un coupe file le week end.

Concernant l’attraction en elle même et bah c’est du très très bon ! Du grand intamin ! Parcours varié, très intense, surtout la zone de triple launch ( mention particulière à la propulsion en arrière ou on décolle littéralement du siège. Les airtimes sont très très nombreux ( pas 21 ) , mais une bonne dizaine ce qui est déjà très très intense. Le fameux airtime à la « Maverick » est particulièrement jouissif ( pas loin de -1,3/-1,5G je pense ). Le 0G stall n’est pas à 0G malheureusement dû au rayon de courbure trop plat , mais ça reste plaisant car il se passe vite, le wall stall est sympa, mais je m’attendais à un éjector, plutôt qu’a du floatting, et le barel roll a la fin est jouissif et propose un airtime ainsi qu’un bon effet de basculement. Le seul point noir de toutatis est clairement son top hat , mal conçu , ne provocant aucun éjector en sortie mais uniquement un léger en entrée seulement au 1er rang malheureusement. Les freins auraient dû être + sec , mais moins long ( comme sur Batman gotham city escape). La zone avant le triple launch est très sympathique aussi , des airtimes sympa et une inversion assez unique propose un bon effet de basculement.

Mise à part quelques points à corriger, on est clairement sur une très très belle machine. Meilleure de France ça c’est certain, et dans le top 5 des meilleurs d’europe c’est certain aussi. Un excellent ajout pour le parc Astérix qui affirme son offre du côté sensation forte. Mention spéciale aux Laps bar qui nous permettent une liberté complète durant le tour.

La zone est très jolie , mais clairement on est loin de la thématique de Parque Warner. Il manque clairement des endroits piétons autour du coaster pour permettre d’observer différents point de vue intéressant comme le stall par exemple.

Mais très très bonne machine ! Merci le parc Astérix. Pour ceux qui compare souvent Europa Park / Astérix, Astérix vient de mettre un KO au soit disant...

Simply amazing ride, extremely smooth, sensational layout... I have been on rides in Universal Island of Adventures in Orlando and Europa-Park and this one would be a gem there as well!

On WEIGHT challenges: When we were there, there were no issues of ppl being asked to leave for being too heavy. A friend (approx 115 kg @ ca, 1.90 m, max of 2.00m applies) had not issues.

UPDATE: I found reviews indicating the seats may have been changed since initial installation, so maybe the issue has been mitigated.

(I dont challenge it is frustrating not being able to ride, but someone wrote in a comment Parc Asterix only wanted "90 kg ppl". That is misleading, to all we could see, the limits seem to be in line with normal restrictions...
