Battertfelsen at Hohenbaden Castle — Attraction in Baden-Baden

Beautiful views of the Black Forest from along the whole top of the mountain. The castle (Altes Schloss) on the eastern side is awesome, but so are the barely recognizable ruins of ramparts on the southern side. The nature preserve has a number of educational signs along the trail, which were very interesting to read along the walk.

It's a long hike through Baden-Baden and up the mountain to walk there from the train station in town, but it's doable to go in daylight if you plan a full day. Be sure to visit the castle, the old ramparts, and get in some good views from the edge of the mountain!

There is a bench or two along the trail up to the castle that are great places to have a small picnic. (Stop by Aldi to grab some food as you walk by on your way out of town to the mountain.) Einer der spektakulärsten Rundwege in Süddeutschland. Start am Parkplatz des "Alten Schlosses" (Ruine Hohenbaden), das als einer der größten Burgruinen der Umgebung in spektakulärer Landschaft auch mitbesichtigt werden kann.

Ab dort Gehzeit von rund einer Stunde, am besten im Gegenuhrzeigersinn begehen, also vom Parkplatz kommend vor der Burgruine rechts abbiegen und, zuerst unterhalb der Felsen entlang gehen. Wenn man die Felsen passiert hat, links abbiegen und in einem Bogen nach oben auf das Felsplateau gehen und entlang der Felsen wieder zurückgehen.

Dabei die Abzweige "Auf die Felsen" und "Felsenbrücke" und "Ritterplatte" unbedingt mitbesuchen, das sind die Höhepunkte mit schlichtweg grandioser Blick über Baden-Baden, die Rheinebene und den Nordschwarzwald.

Am Ende passiert man dann von oben heruntergehend wieder die Schloßruine und kann dort in der Schloßgaststätte...
