Such a wonderful trail - it’s free and you get you see animals in their natural habitat. We went quite early (9am) and the animals weren’t fully in sight yet. They started coming out around 10-11am. The walking paths are easy and there are clear signs. Bring bug spray during summer as there are flies and mozzies.

Wildgehege Baden-Baden is a nice route around fenced enclosures with wild animals - wild boars with their babies, deer, mouflon. There are shelters for observation of the wild animals. Wonderful surprise for animal lovers, very close to Baden-Baden.

Parcours à proximité du funiculaire, dans la forêt, très agréable à faire en automne sous une jolie pluie de feuilles flottantes. Nous avons pu y voir un bel écureuil, une mouflonne, des sangliers. Pas de biche ni renne ce jour-là, mais qu'importe, c'est le hasard et rythme de la nature. Il y a différents parcours au sein de la boucle Wildgehege, plus ou moins longs. Une suggestion: flécher le parcours avec les distances correspondantes pour pouvoir mieux s'y retrouver. Notre parcours s'en est trouvé plus long que prévu: 7 km. Notre fils de 8 ans s'est bien adapté, sauf pour les derniers 500m pendant lesquels il était vraiment fatigué.

It was an absolutely gorgeous walk. We saw a few deer. If you are going to see animals like you would at a zoo, you will be disappointed. It is really just a casual hike through beautiful forest. The animals have huge beautiful enclosures, so you may not see them at all, but if you listen, you will hear, and likely see several, if not many...
