Landschaftspark Herzberge — Attraction in Berlin

Das gesamte ehemalige Areal rund um das Evangelische Krankenhaus Königin Elisabeth Herzberge (KEH) ist seit 2010 als Landschaftspark Herzberge bekannt. Er liegt im Berliner Bezirk Lichtenberg. Bis zum Jahr 2007 bestand das Gebiet noch aus einer Mischung von Brach-, Wirtschafts-, Wohn- und Grünflächen ohne gemeinsame Entwicklung mit vielfältigen Problemlagen. Die Agrarbörse Deutschland Ost e. V.[1] initiierte ab 2004 zusammen mit dem Bezirksamt Lichtenberg eine Reihe geförderter Projekte zur behutsamen, naturnahen Entwicklung des Gebiets zu einem Modellvorhaben urbaner Landwirtschaft in Berlin. In verschiedenen Etappen wurden im Laufe der Jahre die unterschiedlichen Areale zusammengeführt und zu landwirtschaftlich genutzten Flächen, vernetzten Biotopen, Wegesystemen und Erholungsflächen umgestaltet. Die hauptsächlichen baulichen Umgestaltungsarbeiten waren im Jahr 2013 im Wesentlichen abgeschlossen. Die landwirtschaftliche Nutzung durch die extensive Beweidung der Flächen mit Rauhwolligen Pommerschen Landschafen geht dabei einher mit der Erhaltung und Entwicklung eines artenreichen und wertvollen Landschaftsschutzgebietes im Bezirk. Die Ausweisung des Landschaftsparks Herzberge als Landschaftsschutzgebiet wurde beim Senat von Berlin beantragt. Diesem Antrag wurde im Frühjahr 2019 entsprochen.

The entire former area around the Queen Elisabeth Herzberge Evangelical Hospital (KEH) has been known as the Herzberge Landscape Park since 2010. It is located in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg. Until 2007, the area consisted of a mixture of fallow, commercial, residential and green areas without joint development with a variety of problem areas. The Agricultural Exchange Germany East e. v.[1] from 2004, together with the Lichtenberg district office, initiated a series of funded projects for the careful, natural development of the area into a model project for urban agriculture in Berlin. In various stages over the years, the different areas were brought together and redesigned into agriculturally used areas, networked biotopes, path systems and recreational areas. The main structural transformation work was essentially completed in 2013. I had a wonderful experience at Landschaftspark Herzberge! It's definitely the best place to walk or go for a run on a sunny weekend day during the summer. The park is beautifully landscaped with lots of greenery and flowers, and the trails are well-maintained and perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more intense workout. One of Berlin best hidden secrets. A perfect place to relax, keep in shape and buy some truly bio food thanks to the market that can be found inside (works on Saturdays). There are sheeps and there was before some cows (don't know where they go). Nothing fancy to see, but awesome to take a walk and make a picnic...
