I can genuinely say this restaurant is one of the few authentic Vietnamese places in Berlin. This is the place where the Vietnamese community itself goes after their shifts - yes, the people that are cooking your tasteless green curry at your local Imbiss.
And for that reason, you have to make sure you know what to get. Underneath the seven options on the menu lies a master dish: the hot pot stew, with all sorts of meat, fish, and a very pungent and delicious broth.
When we pointed at our neighbors' table and asked the waiter for the same dish, he had to approve it with his supervisor, who promptly came out and asked us, at least twice, "are you sure?"
Needless to say, it was a taste above and beyond your average Vietnamese dish in this city, and reminded me of eating pungent intestine soup in Hanoi. Not for the faint of heart. But you have to admire that at this restaurant, finally, yes, finally, a different taste profile exists.
On top of that, shout out to the staff for their friendliness. My table was short on cash - the nearest ATM was 1.5 km away - and they let us come in the next day to pay the rest.
I can only give this place five stars. Finally, a real Vietnamese...
Read moreI don't usually write bad reviews but I thought it has to be done because I've been hearing loads of bad opinion about this place. I came here often back in the days for authentic Phở and of course for some warm coffee as well. This place used to be good...until the old staff left. The problem now with this restaurant is not the food, rather than the SERVICE. One of the waitress (not all of them) is very rude, unprofessional, unfriendly and to be honest she don't even care about the customer. I went in with my parents and and we asked for some hot Vietnamese coffee and the waitress rudely replied : "We don't serve hot coffee here, only cold coffee!" We were a bit confused and asked why then she coldly said: "I just don't do those filter coffee anymore, it's just that simple." This is not the first time I've encountered rude service from this place, rather a lot! It comes to the point where I do not think it's worth it to come to this place anymore. It's a pity that I will not be coming back to this place anytime soon.
I just hope that the owner of this restaurant really takes the time to read through the comments and make a decision to improve...
Read moreI had heard that this place serves the best pho in Berlin, so I came with high expectations. The broth was indeed quite good, but the beef was rather mediocre. Unfortunately, one of the waiters had a very poor attitude—he seemed impatient and unable to understand either German or English. While I was still eating, he even took away the condiments from my table and gave them to another, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. He repeatedly came to silently remove items from my table, which was quite uncomfortable. Later, I wanted to finish my coffee and sit a bit longer, but he stood right next to me with a cleaning cloth, which made me feel pressured to leave. In the end, I checked and realized I had only spent about 40 minutes from receiving my meal to leaving. What’s worse, the prices on the receipt did not match those listed on the German and English menus. That said, to be fair, another waiter—the one wearing glasses—was very nice. He greeted me when I arrived, promptly cleaned my table, and thoughtfully brought over...
