Beautiful place for cool photos, you get a great view over Dettingen and of the hills around with beautiful autumn colours. You can either walk up from the town or drive up a narrow road to the parking space. The path to the benches at the top is a little bit unsteady - bring good footwear! You can also go for nice walks through the woods behind it.

It was a bit muddy and my hiking shoes did well! Took an hour to walk from the Parkplatz to the top - we went slow as we normally don’t do things like this. The gates were closed and looked like they might be attached to the electric fence - they are easily opened and not electrified.

Der ehemalige Vulkanschlot Calverbühl liegt als kleiner Kegelberg am Fuße des Albtraufs markant am Südhang des Ermstals. Vom Rastplatz auf dem Gipfel unter der Krone der dortigen Linde bietet sich ein herrlicher Blick durchs Tal vom Albvorland bei Metzingen mit Weinberg und Hofbühl über Dettingen und Buchhalde bis nach Bad Urach. Der Berg wird im Sommerhalbjahr von Ziegen der Dettinger Ziegenfreunde beweidet.

One of the most beautiful places of this region. Sometimes, when you're lucky, you can meet the goats, they're all very calm and some are even willing to be pet and come up to you demanding your attention. Beautiful forest, mostly untouched and a lot of branching paths lead you to several gorgeous places with fantastic views. It is quite physically straining to walk up if you aren't fit, so keep that in mind. The parking spots are great too.

There sure is some great potential for the grilling...
