A professionally run family hotel. We were warmly welcomed by the Family Schlecht and enjoyed one night there this weekend.||||Our room, number 3 in the old building, was charming: light, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, with a big bathroom. There's a large carpark out the back, so no problem with parking.||||After a hard afternoon's shopping, a good meal at the Roessle's restaurant was just what we needed. The restaurant is very "gemütlich", with a kachelofen taking pride of place. I can imagine that it would be wonderful to snuggle up to in mid-winter. The service was exceptional, and we were delighted by a complimentary amuse-bouche at the start of our meal. As the butchery next door is run by the same family, I decided to try the steak and was not disappointed -- it was delicious.||||As the previous reviewer noted, breakfast was excellent and featured slices of home-made ham.||||Judging by the number of people lugging out shopping bags whilst checking out, this is clearly a favourite for those who spend the day at Outlet City in Metzingen. It's only a few kms down the road (about 10 mins drive), so perfectly placed if you're after a spot of shopping. Also nearby is Bad Urach, a pretty town with a good number of timber-framed houses (and apparently some worthwhile thermal baths that we'll have to...

Read moreIt's an amazingly good hotel. It is situated very closely to the Bad Urach Spa and to the Metzingen Outlet City as well. Also I should admit that this part of Germany (Baden-Wurtemberg) looks pretty lovely, and there is loads of places to see:hundreds of nice small towns, Mercedes and Porsche Museums, the ancient city of Tubingen, Stuttgart clubs and restaurants. And all these are easily avalable from this hotel.||The hotel itself is a traditional German guest-house with all the features of the best ones: excellent bed, blankets and pillows, great restaurant, hospitable staff, free parking.||||As for the restaurant you may have doubts that I'm fully objective. Well what if I tell you that there are no free tables for Saturday evenings, cause it's fully booked by the locals... I think I've got nothing to add to this fact.||||It's a really decent place, I highly recommend you to choose this hotel if you are tired of network hotels, all-over-the-world-standard meals and all that stuff. Choose a family run hotel in German countryside and relax for couple days.||||I think I'd love to return to this hotel in...
