Besucherhügel — Attraction in Freising

You need €1 coin per person, NO CARD, to get in. You can actually buy ticket with a card in the store, but then somebody has to walk you there and let yiubin through the door.

It is 183 steps to the top platform. The steps are half-height (estimated), so it will be only 100 steps on normal stairs, equal to 4 normal floors.

There is a ramp allowing access with a wheelchair. Strollers have to stay outside. The incline is 8%.

And it is a nice place, with a visitor center, restaurant and airport/flying related store with huge collection of models, both DIY and already built, for adults and kids. They have a lot of kids toys and small gifts.

It is very nice view up there. i was greeted by departing Lufthansa Airbus 380 as I have arrived on top.

A "visitor's hill" with panoramic view of the Munich airport. The runway is quite far away though, binoculars recommended. Access to the hill requires 1€ coins, the machine takes 5€ bills but not others, no card payments either. The "visitor's park" near the hill has a nice children's playground, souvenir shop for scale plane models and books, and a restaurant, making it a good place for family trip with young kids. Der Besucherhügel liegt zwischen beiden Start-/Landebahnen, damit beides sehr gut einsehbar, auch was an den vorderen Slots im Vorfeld an Treiben ist, kann gut gesehen werden. Der Lufthansabereich im hinteren Bereich ist verborgen. Dafür kann der Zollbereich beobachtet werden. Bänke ausreichend vorhanden. Ganz oben ist es meist sehr windig. Wir bevorzugen daher die erste "Plattform". Preis mit 1 EUR pro Person mehr als gerechtfertigt, zeitlich unbegrenzt. Man kann die Treppe hoch gehen (nimmt gefühlt kein Ende) oder aber den Fußweg mit 8% Steigung. Der Weg ist recht schmal, Handlauf rechts vorhanden. Blöderweise Kopfsteinpflaster, für mich sehr anstrengend, kann sehr rutschig sein. Für Geheingeschränkte eine Herausforderung. Mit dem eigenen Fernglas verbringen wir hier viele Stunden und sind "Hobbyspotter". Wer in der Nähe ist und sich für Flugzeuge interessiert, hat hier eine schöne Zeit. Selbstversorgung möglich. Toilettenanlagen mit kostenloser Nutzung am Anfang des Besucherzentrums vorhanden, ebenso eine Schwerbehindertentoilette mit Euroschlüssel. Nervend sind die überforderten Eltern, die mit ihren Kindern meist viel Dreck und Müll in den Toiletten hinterlassen, alles immer schön fallen lassen. Ausreichend Entsorgungsmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden. Ein sehr netter Putzmann tut sein Bestes. Großer kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz vorhanden, 6 Schwerbehindertenparkplätze.
